The Position: Site Controller, Addyston -This position leads all aspects of the financial systems for the Addyston, OH, USA manufacturing site in the Americas Region.  This role leads the financial processes of the site to ensure the site has clear visibility of its cost structure, provides transparent decision-making support, supports efforts to reduce complexity at the site, and is a trusted professional ensuring financial controls and internal financial policies and procedures are followed. This role provides leadership in a matrix organization reporting to the Operational Controller - AMERICAS.

What you will do:

  • Represent the finance and controlling function as a member of the Site Leadership Team
    • Assist site management to establish and document the negotiations that are required, through contracts, licenses, projects, etc., in such a way as to ensure compliance with INEOS Styrolution policies or current legislation.
    • Provide advisory & support services for Site Service Legal Agreements; act as contract administrator of SOLENIS agreements.
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance for both internal policies and external reporting requirements (IFRS & local GAAP) as necessary
    • Responsible for implementation and compliance monitoring of approved accounting policies and procedures to ensure adequate protection of the company’s assets.
    • Provide technical guidance regarding ERP cross functional relationships to enhance business and reporting processes
  • Responsible for and provides coordination for the site controlling area including:
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports, and present fixed & variable cost to the managers of the site
    • Provide monthly updates on spending patterns, variance to budget and forecast, and other Key Financial Performance Indictors (KPIs)
    • Maintain weekly flash report of fixed cost center expenses
    • Coordinate the site forecast and budget preparation (variable and fixed cost)
    • Analyze and report on ERP variances (spending, idle, usage and price variances)
    • Ensure monthly closure and reconciliation of all site balance sheet accounts and maintains the calculations and information necessary to determine the appropriate amounts in these accounts.
    • Prepare and submit various government reports.
    • Track fixed cost project expenses
    • Validate inventory cycle counts on a monthly basis
    • Monthly support to logistic team to ensure proper consumptions of packaging (re-packaging) and other materials as cylinders, totes etc.
    • Annual review of the material purchases to suppliers to accomplish tax requirements includes COGS report generation and validation
    • Control and audit (random) the material that goes out of the plant, assets and non-asset.  Authorization of material with no return to the site and support to the disposal of assets
    • Ensure proper product costing of all materials on a monthly and annual basis
  • Maintain financial review requirements for all capital projects per the Delegation of Authority (DoA) as part of the local Capital Decision Boards
  • Coordinate the preparation and validation of Site Service Level Agreements (SLA) for internal and external services.
  • Support Audit requirements at the local level from all sources: Internal Audit, External Audit, State Tax Audit

What you will bring:

Level of education & knowledge:

  • Bachelors/Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance. An advanced degree, MBA, or CPA is highly desirable

Experience in general:

  • 8+ years of progressive operations finance experience, including experience as a plant controller, Chemical Industry preferred
  • Experience with multisite plants

Technical skills:

  • Expertise in SAP financial modules (FI & CO), and a detailed understanding of the integration with other modules
  • Demonstrated experience with cost accounting/reporting, IFRS/GAAP, Supply Chain, Planning and Forecasting
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Products: Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
