Service Desk Analyst

Main role purpose:

The post holder provides IT support to the INOVYN & INEOS businesses hosted in the UK, predominately in the Northwest of England.


Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance over the phone or email, providing a prompt service that delivers a high level of first and second line support.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided.
  • Formally log calls into the Service Desk system, delegating where appropriate to the correct external supplier/resolution group; monitor the progression of the call to full resolution.
  • Configure, install, maintain and upgrade computer hardware and software as required to agreed standards and specifications.
  • Provide support to IT initiatives as required (LAN, WAN, Applications, PC and Server infrastructure).

Key skills & experience:

  • BTEC / A Level / NVQ in an IT or digital-related discipline.
  • At least 3 years proven practical experience in an IT service desk role.
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.
  • Experienced in IT service delivery in large scale companies.
  • Able to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Good understanding of cyber security, incident management and change control principles.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft: Win7 / Win10 / AD and Office 365.
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp.
  • Knowledge of SAP and WAN / LAN / WIFI technologies.
