Senior Process Engineer

Purpose of the role

To optimize oxidation unit or purification unit or utility & waste water treatment unit and improvement or new facilities project related with process engineering within the company vision, mission and comply to government regulations with the objective to increase asset value and competitiveness in supporting the achievement of company business objectives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Having initiative and able to analyze equipment/unit operation performance for cost reduction, efficiency, yield, and safety improvement.
  • Manage the implementation of the FEL Study and the determination of conceptual design, economic analysis, process development, support project execution in process engineering scope, commissioning, and post project evaluation to meet project objectives.
  • Provide engineering support for production and process safety activities to ensure plant run within safe operating design.
  • Lead the route cause analysis with other departments of any plant upset for effective and efficient solving problems.
  • Monitor and has initiative to improve product and process quality in order to reduce off specs and re-process cost
  • Broad network with another INEOS group.

  • Proactive networking with other process engineering counterpart to bring value added service via an integrated operation and also as part of one team value.
  • Understand risk management tools and its application for achieving job/task objectives
  • Priority and drive to get things done: Prioritize and schedule work based on comprehensive understanding of risk level at site; strong drive to get thing done to coordinate and optimize utilize resources to handle issues in priority (high risk high priority, high cost high priority), safety and efficiently manner.
  • Be alert in finding the opportunity to continuously improve the plant and its manufacturing cost.

 

Reference to planning & Scope of Impact

  • Planning annual self-improvement plan.
  • Involved in quality task force and support marketing to solve customer technical issue in relation with PTA quality by case per case basis.
  • Broad network with other team, department, and functions, e.g., Production, Maintenance, Marketing, PSCM, SHE.
  • Typically to support Technical Superintendent in planning the annual target and prioritize key activities in a yearly basis
  • Feeding input to Technical Superintendent in planning Technology contract with R&T.
  • Feeding input to Technical Superintendent for supporting Project Superintendent in planning annual Capex budget within the process engineering scope.

 

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in process engineer
  • Strong Technical skills and process calculation of heat and material balance
  • Preferable having experience in PTA plant or other similar petrochemical or refinery plant
  • Proficient in using process engineering and design software such as ASPEN plus, ASPEN-HYSYS, HTRI
  • Experience with risk assessment and process safety tools such as HITRA, HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA
  • Strong in data analysis
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Open minded and eager for improvement
  • Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadline
  • Good communication in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Knowledgeable about process design standard
