Senior Process Engineer

Main role purpose:
The post holder is responsible for carrying out process engineering activities to support all process design services offered commercialy by IES and providing technical support to the manufacturing assets.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities: 

• Produce, or supervise the production of, process design packages for chlor-alkali plants from brine purification through to chlorine, hydrogen and caustic soda product export.
• Develop and maintain a core set of generic process documentation for all chlor-alkali and AWE unit operations suitable for FEL1,2 and 3 studies.
• Provide expert process engineering advice to clients and engineering contractors during the development of more detailed design packages and in hazard studies, design reviews, feasibility studies and including on-site troubleshooting/commissioning support.
• Deliver technical presentations and communications to potential clients to influence sale of electrolysis technology and process design services.

• Provide the full range of process engineering services for the manufacturing assets.

Key skills & experience: 

• Degree qualified Chemical Engineer, ideally chartered 
• Excellent process engineering skills
• Broad experience in the design and operation of chlor-alkali or AWE process plants.
• Proven experience operating at a senior engineering level 
• Experience of leading teams to deliver engineering packages 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High concern for standards especially in relation to safety, health and environment;
• Familiar with modern process engineering software packages.
• Good working knowledge of staged gate project execution would be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel globally
