Senior Business and Project Analyst

  • Business Analysis (50%)
    • Qualitative: Collect market data/intelligence, analyze the information, and create report to support business decisions.
      • Function as focal point to both internal and external network to collect market data on acetic acid value chain/inter regional trade flow...
      • Analyze the information collected and generate into business view/recommendation for management.
    • Quantitative: Create economic model to analyze “buy and sell” / “Swap” profit and loss opportunities.
    • Management support:
      • Prepare reports for senior management to support business planning activity (eg, annual commercial strategy and business operating plan, presentations to Board etc)
    • Actively participate in various tasks including
      • Act as a key contributor to provide market forecast for annual budget planning
      • Working with internal JV/functional teams to keep track of JV profit and loss.
      • Support management on regular basis to produce i.e. weekly and monthly commercial reports.
    • Data Management: Design, develop and maintain efficient and robust data transformation and reporting framework. i.e China Acetic acid industry inventory assessment and accountable for delivery of quality data for project milestones & business decision.
  • Project economic modeling and analysis (50%)
    • Develop analysis on critical issues that impact business performance and translate the analysis into actionable recommendations. i.e Hotpot new JV evaluation of sales to East China…
  • Takes up the overall ownership of developing Business Case & Economic Modelling that are essential to facilitate the decision making by senior business leadership in regard of project investment decision. Proactively manages constraints, stakeholders, interdependencies, risks, and conflicting priorities to deliver successful projects.
  • Actively participates in various project proposals by scanning/analyzing project inputs from various sources like Project core team members, Business Management, Finance, Manufacturing & Engineering, etc.
  • Participates in critical negotiations and guides the Project team explaining the impact of these decisions on Project cash flows and economics.
  • Constantly looks into various risks along with its mitigation plan and if necessary, translates these risks into financial numbers in the overall evaluation of projects.
  • Scan/analyses project inputs from various sources like project core team members, business management, manufacturing & engineering, finance etc, ensure project inputs are robust and no contradictions among various inputs.
  • Owns the development of governance documents (e.g. FMs, DSP, BSOR, Assumption Registers, Post Project Evaluation etc), and challenges others to ensure the governance documents are clear, complete and unbiased.
