INEOS Quattro – Senior Accountant

Location: Knightsbridge, London

Role and Organisation Context:

INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals. It comprises 36 businesses; each with a major chemical company heritage. INEOS’s production network spans throughout the world, 194 sites across 29 countries, generating an annual turnover of around $60 billion.

Quattro Central team is a new team set-up following the combination of 4 INEOS Businesses together. We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will work with and coordinate all Quattro finance teams to produce timely and accurate Consolidated financial information directed to internal and external stakeholders, as well as implement and improve reporting process to streamline the reporting process.

As the role requires coordination of financial input for four large INEOS businesses based in different regions (America, Europe, Asia), the post holder must demonstrate the ability to influence workflow within a team without direct report line relationship. As the structure of INEOS Quattro is expected to evolve frequently due to refinancing or acquisition and disposal, the post holder must also demonstrate the ability to adapt rapidly in a minimally structured environment.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Quattro Group Activities:

  • Prepare all consolidated financial reporting including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Provide insight into the Group's externally reported results and other financial information based on a strong technical understanding of IFRS.
  • Partner with local finance, actuarial and other teams to ensure that developments both in the business and in external reporting requirements are appropriately reflected in the Group's external reporting.
  • Manage relationships across a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that the Group's objectives with regards to financial and regulatory reporting are met.
  • Make a key contribution towards the delivery of Group Finance projects, including in respect of corporate activity (e.g., acquisitions/disposals/reorganisations), finance system developments and the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Take responsibility for a robust control environment, overseeing the design and operation of controls over reporting processes, review and challenge of business submissions and driving continuous process improvement with respect to both quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in the improvement of the scale and quality of information collected in relation to the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting for the Quattro Group
  • Support the preparation of all quarterly communication - Trading Statements, quarterly Financial Statements and Quarterly Financial Review presentation
  • Plan the year-end processes, including liaison and key point of contact with the external auditors, preparing the external audit and reporting timetable.
  • Coordinate and consolidate the Quattro budget submission to INEOS Capital
  • Lead and develop a junior accountant.
  • Daily interactions with senior internal and external stakeholders

Quattro Corporate activities:

  • Produce and coordinate the timely submission of the monthly financial statements to HFM for Quattro Corporate entities to meet Group reporting requirements
  • Preparation of the annual statutory financial statements, including external disclosure notes for 8 UK legal entities and coordinate end-to-end delivery of the statutory accounts.
  • Preparation of annual budget for Quattro Corporate entities

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills – necessary to perform the job:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience, or equivalent Bachelors’ degree or designation with practical financial accounts experience.

Technical skills:

  • Experience of production and delivery of consolidated financial statements in the context of a major international group
  • The role requires a sound technical accounting knowledge in IFRS and strong understanding of the integrated nature of financial reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of HFM reporting tool would be a plus
