ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND JOB PURPOSE

Organizational Context

INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. Our products touch every aspect of modern-day life. INEOS Enterprises is a global market leader in the production of intermediary chemicals that are used as an essential input into chemical value chains across a broad variety of end markets and sectors. The INEOS Joliet facility was originally constructed by Amoco starting in 1957. At our ~775-acre site in Channahon township, (about 40 miles southwest of Chicago) we produce three products - Purified Isophthalic Acid (PIA), Trimellitic Anhydride (TMA) and Maleic Anhydride (MAN). The proprietary technologies used by INEOS Joliet were originally developed by Amoco at the site.

Main Purpose

This role is part of the INEOS Joliet Commercial team, which manages all aspects of customer service, planning, and logistics to support both the production site based in Joliet, IL, and the global supply chain operations. Internally, the job holder will be required to independently work alongside the other schedulers as well as the Commercial Team, plant operations and packaging warehouse personnel. Schedulers frequently communicate with customers in the process of receiving product orders and helping resolve late payment issues. This role also works closely with various internal functional groups i.e. inventory management, shipping office, marketing team, and accounts receivable to help manage the order fulfilment and transportation processes. Externally, the job holder will be required to build solid working relationships with customers as part of accepting and processing product orders as well as resolving any issues. Further the job holder will work with third party logistics providers to resolve any issues related to shipment timeliness and incident resolution. The individual will report to the Logistics Supervisor and be supported by the Commercial Team at INEOS Joliet.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Own providing assigned customer base with excellent customer service. Receive customer product orders, provide estimated delivery timing as well as transportation options when requested delivery timing cannot be met.  Monitor the shared Logistics email inbox for new orders, order changes, or other customer requests.  Notify customers of transportation incidents that will impact orders.  Provide customers with order tracking status upon request.  Provide Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to customers upon request.  Forward REACH requests, technical product requests, and ISO requests to the proper internal resources.  Communicate in a friendly and professional manner.  Support rotating off-hours support requests.

Own the entry and management of customer orders and information within SAP  Manage customer Sold-To and Ship-To locations.  Enter customer orders and process order changes into SAP in a timely manner.  Calculate and manage rebate payments to customers in a timely manner.  Ensure order holds are released in a timely manner.  Prepare debit/credit memos to handle pricing errors, product returns, freight and miscellaneous customer rebills.  Document transportation related incidents in company management system and own follow up action items as required to prevent recurrence or minimize future impacts.

Own cross-team logistics coordination and communication  Work with shipping office to resolve carrier availability issues and understand/communicate additional transportation costs.  Work with marketing team to manage orders versus forecasts, customer rebate approval, as well as customers’ timely release of railcars.  Work with accounts receivable and marketing team to manage INEOS’ response to customers with past due invoices.

Own the barge scheduling process

After receiving desired barge supply timing from Economics and Planning, submit the following in a timely manner:

*Barge request and timing to barge company 

*Nominate barges to loading facility 

*Inspector instructions to barge inspection company 

Re-nominate barges to supplier as necessary due to barge substitutions 

Monitor barge traffic and advise Supply Chain Manager and Economics and Planning Analyst if any issues develop that will impact barge load timing, load quantity, cost, or arrival timing. 

Follow the defined Off-Spec barge process as needed. 

To be an effective and flexible member of the Commercial Team, capable of backfilling colleagues within the team as and when required.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Education/Experience

 High school diploma or equivalent.  Three years’ experience in scheduling, logistics, freight forwarding, or customer service preferred.  Experience with ERP system i.e. SAP, Maximo, etc.  DOT shipping experience a plus.  Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Strong problem-solving skills.  Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Skills/Competencies  High attention to detail.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment  Confident self-starter able to work independently  Self-control capacity to deal with individuals with diverse backgrounds as well as challenging situations such as carrier failures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the individual will perform primarily office tasks requiring repetitive use of hands; however, may occasionally be required to enter production areas to understand and scope project needs.

Minimum requirements include: Maintaining constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of all other personnel. This includes knowledge of INEOS 20 Safety Principles and other safety procedures and rules.  Being able to pick up a 50 lb object such as a fire extinguisher or a large book/binder.  Being able to work at a desk and operate routine items such as a computer and calculator; close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make discriminations in sound.
