About of the job

The sales manager is responsible for selling the main product produced at our Geel facility in Belgium (PTA), providing key account management to a customer portfolio across UK, Europe and Turkey with the aim to maximise EBITDA and cash for the business. This role shapes and implements contract management strategies and negotiates supply agreements, finding new opportunities within the current customer base as well as new market opportunities, and working to support the overall success of the sales team.

The main accountabilities of the sales manager include business planning, contract management, ensuring margin growth, relationship management, business development and sustainability. The sales manager will have a portfolio that is a mixture of large customers in the PET / Fibre industries and customers with speciality applications.

To be successful in this role the job holder needs to:

  • Understand the INEOS PTA assets capability;
  • Understand the routes to market and their cost to serve including supply chain operational limitations;
  • Demonstrate sales excellence and key account management, working with 2 other sales colleagues;
  • Provide customer and market insights to enhance our competitiveness;
  • Communicate clearly, show team orientation and have the ability to work across a small, multi-function commercial team.

The location of the job is flexible in Europe. It can be on-site in Geel (Belgium), London (UK) or home based with regular travel to the sites.

Required Profile

  • Higher degree, preferably science or business
  • Significant sales/key account experience and management of large blue-chip accounts. We prefer to hire a candidate with experience in petchems, the chemical manufacturing industry and/or the PET value chain
  • High level of business/commercial acumen together with strong analytical skills
  • Willing to travel up to 50-80%, primarily to customer locations and operations sites (INEOS Geel site in Belgium, INEOS office in London).
  • Performance driven, creative and entrepreneurial with excellent networking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong delivery and cost focus, with sound understanding of market dynamics, financial data and financial analysis
  • Fluency in English, any other language is a plus.
