Job Title: Sales Manager, Acetyls
The Main Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for sales and marketing efforts, including contract and price negotiation, for acetyls product line within the Southern Region (includes Southern US, West Coast, and Mexico). Primary responsibility is to select and service a range of end-use customers, oversee logistics management and meet target volume and profitability levels agreed for region.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The Sales Manager (Acetyls) operates in a remote home-office environment, with specific emphasis on direct face-to-face sales contact with all existing or prospective accounts to define their requirements.Must be very self-sufficient in all phases of communication, both internal and external.Highly motivated self-starter is a critical key characteristic.
Responsible for collating and disseminating marketing intelligence e.g. growth trends, derivative information, and competitor activities.A high level of expertise in products and market sectors is essential.Responsible for networking with INEOS Acetyls team members globally.
Accountable for the profitability and sales for Acetyls products as well as preparing annual sales forecasts and marketing plans for these products in their region.This information is integrated into Acetyls Americas business plans.
Sales Manager role entails interfacing with all the appropriate support departments for customers issues including Customer Service, Logistics, HSE, Credit and Legal. Sales Manager will organize cross functional team to address any customer initiatives, questions or concerns.
Lead and develop two Customer Service Representative direct reports.
Skills & Knowledge Required
Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree in science, engineering or business or similar professional qualification/experience. MBA preferred but not required.
- 10 years work experience in sales, marketing, and business management within the petrochemical industry
- Self-starter, with ability to drive delivery and performance, who can translate strategic thinking into day to day activities that enable the business to deliver on its strategic objectives
Technical skills
- Highly developed marketing, selling and negotiation skills
- Evidence of growing customer relationships which are directly linked to financial success
- Ability to rapidly understand and interpret information on market dynamics
- Able to identify and quickly assess potential opportunities
- Sound commercial and business judgement developed in different business environments and across a range of markets/functions and cultures
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify meaningful information and messages from a broad and sometimes incomplete set of data sources
- Strong competence with standard business software (Excel / Word / PowerPoint)
