The HSE Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and administration of safety policies and programs at the site that minimize the adverse effects of accidental losses through incident prevention, ensuring alignment and support with business strategies and objectives. It is designated as a Safety Critical role.

Key activities include:
Adhere to INEOS Pigments’ 20 principles of Process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules
Assure the safety of employees and contractors through compliance with the OSHA standards, ANSI standards, INEOS Pigments policies and procedures, and other agencies’ safety regulations, standards, and/or guidelines
Implement and administer legally-compliant safety and health policies, programs, and best practices at the site
Develop, maintain, and communicate site safety, health and emergency procedures
Perform or coordinate regular safety audits, including inspection and maintenance of safety equipment and facilities
Conduct accident and incident investigations, preparing reports, establishing preventative actions
Completing of safety action items
Participating in Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs), PSSRs, etc.
Auditing safety & health programs and procedures
Perform annual fit testing
Perform annual fall protection inspections
Maintain and foster collaborative effort with all site business functions and the site Safety & Health team to identify, establish and share best practices
Report on operational performance and KPIs
Ability to work outside normal work schedule hours
Other duties as assigned
About You
You should possess:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
A minimum of two years’ experience in a specialist SHE role or, 5+ years of relevant experience in a chemical manufacturing facility
Knowledge of safety and health processes and related legislation and standards
Board Certified Safety Professional or ability to obtain
Member of the American Society of Safety Professionals preferred
Computer literacy including MS Office and SAP
This is a salaried exempt day shift position. Normal work hours are from 0700 - 1530 with on-call responsibilities 24 hours per day.
