Purpose of the job: describe in 1 phrase what contribution the job is expected to make to the organisation’s objectives

The incumbent is responsible for leading SHE support to influence joint ventures in delivering INEOS SHE priorities, and implementation plan, to protect INEOS interests in the area of safety and compliance. The SHE Lead works closely with the JV Leadership Teams, JV SHE managers, and other safety professionals across other INEOS businesses, to implement the INEOS SHE requirements and best practices to further improve SHE performance within the JV’s

 

Environment/Context: describe the most important internal and external factors influencing the job

 

  • The JV Manufacturing Excellence team is responsible for providing technical support in the field of plant manufacturing excellence and to prioritize and drive the overall JV SHE agenda, sharing the best practices between INEOS operated sites and JV’s
  • This team is responsible for developing the overall strategies to influence the JV’s to embed the INEOS safety culture, and drive process safety improvement
  • This team works closely with the INEOS Acetyls Technology Support Team and JV’s to develop reliability strategies and reliability improvement plan to further improve the JV’s reliability and TAR performance
  • In addition, this team will also work with the INEOS Acetyls Technology Support Team and JV’s to progress cost and efficiency improvements

 

Accountabilities of the job: describe the main results expected from the job

  • Act as the custodian for INEOS LSR, IGGN’s, 20 Principles and INEOS Acetyls SHE standards, , and advise JV’s on such matters
  • Lead safety reviews on Projects and TAR activities of JV sites as well as independent safety audits (eg. Asset Care)
  • Work closely with entities JV Heads, INEOS secondees and JV SHE managers to develop the JV entities annual SHE plans, including, but not limited to, site visits, TAR safety observations and Safety Peer Reviews
  • Maintain Incident & Crisis Management standards, and logistics safety standards, across the INEOS Acetyls Asia JV businesses, coordinating support from INEOS group SHE teams
  • Support the INEOS Acetyls business in delivery of the annual safety performance KPI plan, SHE implementation plan and SHE priorities
  • Support INEOS Acetyls business in safety culture promotion programs (eg. 20 Principles, Life Saving Rules, and risk management)
  • Support INEOS Acetyls business in overall safety performance improvement plan, including development and communication of monthly safety performance analyses, timely safety interventions and improvement actions follow up
  • Act as INEOS Acetyls safety lead in the Asia Pacific region in coordination with other business / regional SHE professionals to provide necessary support to all INEOS Acetyls joint ventures
  • Provide personal and process safety inputs to the JV’s and SHE manager network, and follow up assigned actions accordingly
  • Travel required: up to 25%

Required profile:

Technical Skills

  • Minimum BS in Engineering / Science
  • Minimum 15 years of experience with chemical plant process and/or process safety knowledge
  • Track record of technical excellence and analytical skills in manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of INEOS internal standards / applicable external standards in the area of SHE
  • Demonstrated proficiency in influencing others and working with people at all levels

 Behavioural Skills

  • An excellent SHE professional with demonstrated track record of working across organisational boundaries to engage and motivate teams to deliver
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills

Performance indicators: Describe the criteria allowing to measure to what extent the results are achieved - related to the accountabilities

  • High level of SHE reporting across JV’s (i.e. injuries, incidents, HiPo’s, LOC’s)
  • Development of annual SHE improvement plans at all JV’s
  • Review of all OSHA, HiPo and LOC10 incident investigations and agreement for resulting improvement plans
  • Integration of all JV SHE data in INEOS reporting requirements from 2024 (with 2022/23 plan to achieve this)
  • JVs are well advised on INEOS SHE system ( such as IGGNs, lessons learned from incidents, etc )
  • Safe work culture are forming and establishing – reporting, periodic audits, projects and Turnaround reviews
  • Cordial and professional liaison/relations with JV secondees and JV SHE managers
  • Incidents are timely reported and investigated.
