SAP Basis and EDI Specialist (f/m/d)  (F/M/D)

Organisational context and job purpose

The function “SAP and EDI Specialist” takes care of the following:

• Responsible to ensure that the complex SAP landscape is maintained and operational.
• Responsible for ensuring that SAP systems and data preservation by performing compre-hensive investigations into performance issues, and to contribute to the prevention of such incidents by engaging in proactive performance assessment, mitigation planning, incident trend analysis, and security architecture review.
• Responsible to deliver Basis services to INSTY, internal business
• Responsible for all changes in the SAP landscape including, Disaster Recover, upgrades working with manager and hosting partner
• Responsible for performing regular preventive maintenance and updating of SAP landscape is not vulnerable to internal or external threats, and quickly mitigate risks discovered through this exercise.
• Responsible for the delivery of SAP PI/PO enhancements/change request/small projects to the client
• Responsible to execute and deliver all internal demands working closely with Application management teams and hosting partner

Internal influencing factors:

• Working with internal and external teams to drive the SAP Basis compliance
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve procedures, benchmarks, and controls
• Research best practices to support continuous improvement
• Implementing programs and policies to achieve specific technical delivery goals

     External influencing factors:

• End-to-end delivery of SAP PI enhancements/ change request/small projects to the client, including understanding the needs and requirements of the application manager based on technical specifications (partly in cooperation with external consultants)
• Provide technical support and advice to application managers based on INEOS Styrolution’s specific requirements (partly in close cooperation with external consultants)

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• The “SAP and EDI Specialist” takes care of the following:
• Ensure effective security, operation and peak performance of SAP environments and Interfaces
• Proactive monitoring of applications and services to maintain high availability and business continuity
• APPCOM/Classic (network configuration and file system, able to support the SAP maintenance (In cooperation with Hosting partner)
• UNIX / LINUX / WINDOWS
• INTERFACES using SAP Netweaver PI Middleware
• SAP Basis and PI incident, Change, Problem management in Service-now
• Work with business partners and 3rd parties for operational and project work
• Responsible for development, maintenance and testing of contingency plans, hardware maintenance and lifecycle planning for the software, hardware and networking assets affecting SAP and hosted applications
• Recommends, implements and assures compliance with policy and procedures affecting computing technology
• Manages SAP Support projects including scheduling the work, ensuring availability of resources, material etc., and ensures the quality of the deliverables
• Provides input and assistance to other IT projects
• Participate in the setting of objectives, strategies, plans, programs, performance standards/measures and procedures, as a member of the SAP technical team
• Full back-up of Global Manager Service and Delivery
• Working with IT leadership team to drive the SAP Basis compliance
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve team procedures, benchmarks, and controls
• Research best practices to support continuous improvement
• Coordinate with architects and other Organizations to understand industry trends and the latest advancements in the SAP space
• Provide recurring management reports, metrics, performance baselines, etc.
• Responsible for implementing programs and policies to achieve specific technical delivery goals
• Uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility
• Develop quality code and its associated documentation adhering to team and departmental development standards related to SAP PI/PO
• Development including analysis, testing, tracking and resolution (SAP PI/PO)
• Develop test data and analyse problems in programs (SAP PI/PO)
• Demonstrate a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritisation
• To be a strong team player

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

• Level of education & Knowledge:
  • A University degree in IT or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 8+ years relevant experience in SAP, plus overall 10+ years of experience in IT
• Technical skills:
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure services and standards
  • Experience in customer service for managing Incidents
  • Experience in analysing the different SAP Netweaver Software and Cloud Solutions.
  • Experience with the newest SAP Process Integration product releases such as Process Integration and Process Orchestration, versions 7.3x, 7.4 and 7.5 and SAP Cloud Integration (HCI).
  • Solid understanding or SAP Business processes and SAP Basis environments
  • Good communication skills in English, German desirable
