Runcorn Site Shift Manager 1

Main role purpose:

The post holder manages site operations to best optimise output and profitability as well as provides leadership for SHE emergencies both on and off-site.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare, manage and review the S&OP plan for the optimisation of the Runcorn Site operations.
  • Provide the initial management response and reporting of all SHE incidents associated with the Site's activities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the general public and external authorities.
  • Lead and develop an effective Site emergency response, acting as Incident Controller for all emergencies.
  • Manage the external emergency systems (ECES).

Key skills & experience required:

  • HNC in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing role.
  • At least 5 years experience in managing a COMAH regulated plant.
  • Experienced manager with a high level of technical and managerial ability.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Fundamental understanding of the chemical hazards, complexity and regulations.
  • Strong focus on standard-setting.
  • A high degree of organisational thinking and communication skills
  • A leader with strong influencing skills at all levels.
  • Tenacious, self-managing and independent.
  • Must be able to remain calm and controlled in managing emergency crisis situations.
