Main role purpose:
The post holder manages site operations to best optimise output and profitability as well as provides leadership for SHE emergencies both on and off-site.
Accountabilities:
- Prepare, manage and review the S&OP plan for the optimisation of the Runcorn Site operations.
- Provide the initial management response and reporting of all SHE incidents associated with the Site's activities.
- Act as the first point of contact for the general public and external authorities.
- Lead and develop an effective Site emergency response, acting as Incident Controller for all emergencies.
- Manage the external emergency systems (ECES).
Key skills & experience required:
- HNC in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing role.
- At least 5 years experience in managing a COMAH regulated plant.
- Experienced manager with a high level of technical and managerial ability.
- Analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Fundamental understanding of the chemical hazards, complexity and regulations.
- Strong focus on standard-setting.
- A high degree of organisational thinking and communication skills
- A leader with strong influencing skills at all levels.
- Tenacious, self-managing and independent.
- Must be able to remain calm and controlled in managing emergency crisis situations.
