Main resonsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Act as the single point of accountability in new development projects, such as Oxychlorination Catalysts, and lead the stage gate process.
  • Initiate, organize and monitor Pilot Plant development programmes aimed at developing new catalysts to give better production performance.
  • Generate, report and feedback ideas across all team objectives on how catalysts and processes may be improved to help develop and progress R&D projects.
  • Plan a monthly work schedule to carry out work agreed upon with the VCM R&D Manager as part of the annual R&D targets.
  • Responsible for ensuring all technical work is reported and developed on a timely basis.
  • Provide technical advice to users of catalysts. 
  • Act as the official RSPP of the Porto Marghera Site.
  • Manage the Safety Management System, according to the ISO45001 Certification.
  • Support the R&D Manager in the management of the utilities for the Pilot Plant Building (air compressor, energy, cooling system, technical gases).

Key skills & experience:

  • Master's degree/PHD in Chemistry or in Industrial Chemistry.

  • Experience in R&D Heterogeneous Catalysis and analytical chemistry preferred.

  • Fluency in English (Level B2).
  • Technically competent to develop new analytical techniques in catalysis.  
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • PC literate (Microsoft Office package).
  • Good social intelligence.
  • Team player (international team).
  • Sensitive to SHE (safety, environment, health) issues.
  • Willing to travel and work off-site.

The role is based in Porto Marghera, Italy.
