Reliability Engineer  (F/M)

A. Purpose /Role of the job

  The primary role of the Reliability Engineer is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect site operations. This broad primary role can be divided into three smaller, more manageable roles: Maintenance workflow management, maintain and improve asset reliability for Life Cycle of Assets. Analyze the equipment failures by collecting data and study the system thoroughly and plan for corrective & preventive measures to avoid recurrence of the failure and resolve chronic issues. Ensure that all activities are planned and executed in accordance with INEOS SHE & Asset management guidelines.

C. Responsibilities/ Accountabilities of the job

Accountability1 : Achieve the annual target of SHE and Compliance of local regulations

Major Activities:

  • Participate in the regular safety training at site for employees, contractors and visitors on
  • Safety rules and guidelines
  • Operating procedures
  • Incident sharing and learning
  • Permit to work and Risk Assessment etc.
  • Participate in Behavior Based Safety program and promote team members/contractors to participate in the activity at site during the maintenance work.
  • Comply for;
  • Cascading/ commitment to learn follow and practice INEOS 20 principles of Process safety and Behavior safety at site through site rules and procedures.
  • Implementation/ commitment to learn follow and practice Life Saving Rules at site.
  • Safety of employees, Contractors, Visitors and partners at site
  • Following Permit to work as per the site procedure.
  • Following Management of Change as per the site procedure
  • Participate, develop safety culture at site, and drive for incident free operation.
  • Plan and implement with SHE KPIs and Targets set.
  • Participate with Asset Care & OCS program
  • Follow and practice site procedures aligned with INEOS Group/ INSTY Guidance Notes (IGGNs/SGGNs).
  • Follow and practice Life Saving Rules at site.
  • Follow and practice Permit to work as per the site procedure
  • Follow and practice Management of Change as per the site procedure
  • Conducting/ participating in HAZOPs at site as per procedure
  • Comply to legal regulations.
  • Participate to perform action items to implement INEOS Styrolution Sustainability program at site.
  •  Support in energy conservation activities for maintenance if required.

Outcome: Zero incident/accident in the site with sustainability and safe operation and

no property loss.

Accountability 2: Equipment reliability improvement as reliability engineer

Major Activities:

  • Works with production to perform analysis of equipment reliability including asset utilization, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), remaining useful life, reliability and costs of assets maintenance throughout the entire life cycle of assets.
  • Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
  •  Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions
  • Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes:
  •  Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
  •  Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
  • Provides input to a risk management plan that could adversely impact site operation. related to reliability.
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect operations based on capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues under utilization of data analysis techniques(Reliability modeling and prediction, FTA, Statistical process control, RCA, FMEA, etc.)
  • Works with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
  • Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.
  • Support for Spares management through SAP for reliability improvement.
  • Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
  • Participates in the final check out of new installations including FAT, SAT that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
  • Generate reports pertaining to reliability and other related activities in site and follow up with site team for completion of the jobs.
  • Work with vendors concerning equipment issues, technology issues and failures.
  • Use reliability concepts / tools to perform reliability assessment of site assets and develop action plans to increase reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Provide support to achieve reliability costs and performance goals.
  • Review new and repaired equipment design and develop reliability requirements.
  • Lead operation reliability improvement initiatives which focus on eliminating significant and recurring reliability issues.
  • Support for Energy, Quality management and statutory compliances for improving reliability.

Outcome:  Maximizing equipment overall efficiency effectiveness of equipment
through most effectively using reliability engineering and analysis techniques.

Accountability 3: Maintenance work planning

Major Activities:

  • Keep reliable equipment running to design capability through planning of Mechanical integrity(MI), planned maintenance (ITPM, Inspection Test, PM Overhaul) where it is more effective than alternatives
  •  Prepare work packages for every planned maintenance activity including order, receive and supervise required material to assist maintenance activities.
  • Plan and arrange activities related with equipment maintenance to enhance equipment and  accessibility and competence supporting site production supplies.
  • Coordinate daily as well as weekly planning meetings related with maintenance with production team.
  • Coordinate to rebuild spare equipment through external suppliers.
  • Control drawings, manuals, and other documents to assist contractor and maintenance repairs or modifications and keep engineering drawings for any further required revisions or upgrades.
  • Coordinate plant shutdowns to attain all essential schedules.
  • Execute modification in maintenance records and key equipment with significant spares during setting apt reorder levels along with quantities.
  • Provide assistance to engineering for spare parts preparation and PM Lists for new equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and equipment troubleshooting for supporting entire on-site maintenance activities.
  • Facilitate asset management practice per global program
  • Report monthly maintenance cost spending analysis for the cost effectiveness
  • Review annual maintenance budget and spending plan and report the actual with analysis
  • Review and report maintenance KPI & maintenance related cost spending on TCR
  • Review of plant equipment data in SAP and support to update.
  • Review of PM plan and updating in SAP and support to update.
  • Review of PM Task list and updating in SAP and support to update.
  • Review condition monitoring schedule in SAP-PM plan and support to update.
  • Review of pending PM orders and follow up to complete the work within timeline.
  • Monitor PM compliance and condition monitoring compliance.
  • Monitor pending action items base on condition monitoring inspection report.
  • Monitor re-inspection to ensure that issue has been resolved after the rectification.
  • Generate actual PM & PdM completed vs Plan and discuss with Maintenance & Production staff to close the gaps if any.

Outcome:  Maximizing operating profit and equipment availability to improve overall efficiency
through most effectively using planned maintenance within the budget approved

Accountability 4: Inspection of Equipment Containing Hazardous Fluids

Major Activities

  • Review and implement plan for IGGN30 requirement such as inspection strategy and planning with general understanding of RBI(Risk Based Inspection)
  • Review and Implement CUI, deadleg management
  • Review and apply inspection software for inspection and record keeping

Outcome:   No LOC(Loss of containment) issue on the hazardous Fluids
