Regional Industry Lead, Packaging 



A. Purpose /Role of the job /: Describe in 1 phrase what contribution the job is expected to make to the organisation’s objectives.

To plan and direct Packaging & Healthcare Industry sales in Asia Pacific, in order to achieve agreed sales volume, CM1 and selling cost objectives by implementing consistently the overall sales strategy, using technical, organizational and customer knowledge.

B. Environment/Context/Complexity of the job: Describe the most important internal and external factors influencing the job  

Lead the employee development in the Packaging & Healthcare Industry team in Asia-Pacific and mediate between the sales, new business development and technical service team with priority.  Also have to closely working with Global and the other regional packaging & healthcare teams to maintain consistency of Global packaging strategy and Global Healthcare strategy and take care of Global and regional key accounts.

In addition, continued contact and cooperation with BMs, PMs in Asia-Pacific and global and regional development staff is requested for the sustainable growth in the Asian packaging & healthcare market.

C. Responsibilities/ Accountabilities of the job: Describe the main results expected from the job

  • Implementation of strategy: Take the responsibility to continuously improve the commercial results of product portfolio according the strategies via product promotion/introduction, proposals of marketing plans, analysis and proposal of sales/distribution channels, pricing proposals, analysis of market to support decision of further product development, strategic etc.
  • Implement 2025 APAC Packaging Strategy and 2025 APAC Healthcare Strategy.
  • Define customer needs and product application to enhance achievements of sales targets: Conduct market research via visits, calls, interviews etc. to identify and understand customer’s expectations and needs. Obtain and coordinate data and information from team members and member groups.  Develop lists of potential customers after research of the data. 
  • Customer management: Lead and guide AMs for sound customer management.
  • Sales Development; Lead sales development and marketing proposal to trace customers’ needs on consumption analysis, product/service performance, technical service’s needs. Take the responsibility to continuously improve the commercial results.
  • Product promotion, credit management, market intelligence; Guide and/or participate sales presentation/workshop/road show to promote and lead credit management according to company credit policies.  
  • People management: Support the employee development in the team by participation in employee recruitment, training and development, resolve discipline and grievance.

D. Required profile:

  • Level of education & Knowledge:

Prefer bachelor or above degree of chemical engineering/mechanical engineering/Polymer Eng. or completed related subjects with knowledge of finance, accounting, and business development competencies in the packaging sector.

  • Experience in general:  

Familiar with the marketing and selling of plastics in the packaging & healthcare market.

Familiarity with packaging & healthcare OEMs and Tiers.

More than five years directly related work experience in Sales, Marketing, or Market Development and more than 10 years working experience in Chemical industry

  • Technical skills: 

Above average computer skills with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Fluent English in speaking and writing

High level of communication skills and empathy

Project Management skill
