Purpose of the Job:

The Quality Assurance Control Technologist supports equipment and instrumentation utilized in the Operations laboratory and maintains the Dow control and LIMs system

Internal Factors:

  • The Quality Assurance Control Technologist reports directly to the Quality Assurance Chemist and liaises with The Dow Chemical Company (TDCC) representatives to ensure proper maintenance and sustenance of their controls and systems.

Accountability 1: 

SHE

Most important activities

  • This position – and all positions – with the INEOS Oxide US organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position.  These Principles are posted throughout each Oxide facility and each employee must also commit to following INEOS’ Life-Saving rules on a daily basis.  These are also posted within each Oxide facility
  • Actively participate in and support overall SHE processes

Accountability 2: 

Control System Programs and Solutions

Most important activities

  • Preparation of all TDCC control related solutions while managing data collection required for new control solution qualification
  • Accurately tracking and annotating TDCC and Shared Assets control charts
  • Observation of any and all control chart trends that require prompt attention and efficient notification to applicable parties
  • Creation of new sample points in LIMs for any new TDCC-related controls

Accountability 3: 

Testing Programs

Most important activities

  • Manage all outbound special testing requests for TDCC including collection and preparation of sample shipments
  • Ensure results are provided to QA Chemist accurately and efficiently regarding inbound special testing requests related to TDCC
  • Manage TDCC’s 3rd Party Quarterly Testing Program including sending samples as required
  • Determination of lot retesting requirements for all TDCC and Shared Assets for all Out of Specification (OoS) incidents while leading the retesting process from start through completion

Accountability 4: 

Quality / Laboratory Support

Most important activities

  • Serves as backup to Laboratory Equipment Specialist during absences
  • Assists the Quality Assurance Chemist on the control shelf life extension program
  • Ensuring equipment is properly tagged and special control is qualified and available.
  • Strict adherence to cGMP and ISO9001/2015 regulations as it pertains to the department and departmental responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned or requested by management

Skills/Competencies

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline, preferably Chemistry, required
  • Five to Seven years of experience in a continuously operating manufacturing environment in the Quality / Laboratory department
  • Ability to lead and provide training to colleagues

Technical Skills

  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with SAP system, and ability to learn and stay abreast of industry changes. 
  • ISO 9001: 2015 / IPEC or EXCiPACT cGMP comprehension required
