INEOS Grangemouth are looking for an experience QA/QC Engineer on a pay as you earn contract basis to support the New Energy Project (NEP) by undertaking the associated Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities that will provide assurance throughout the procurement and construction phases of the project.
The project strategy is to maximize offsite fabrication and minimize on-site works. To support this strategy, the QA/QC Engineer will ensure that appropriate assurance measures are implemented to identify and mitigate areas of risk to quality during modular build and site construction.
Principal Accountabilities
- Oversight and Assurance over the off-site and on site fabrication activities.
- Review of supplier manufacturing record books and provide comments on areas of improvement.
- Assist the NEP Quality Manager to carry out root cause analysis of trends revealed through audits and other verification activities.
- Work closely with EPC Contractors QA and completions teams to ensure seamless handover of equipment from construction to commissioning.
- Verification of compliance to the agreed quality requirements and release of products, also considering country-specific regulations.
- Assist EPC contractor and their key sub suppliers in resolving equipment and construction NCR’s.
- Tracking of metrics to ensure that the Quality KPI’s for NEP Project are being met.
- Review and approval of contractor and sub-contractors Quality Plans to verify compliance to Ineos site standards.
- Monitor approval progress of Project Quality documentation deliverables.
- Maintaining and logging of surveillance close outs, non-conformities and associated trend analysis.
- Deputise for Project Quality Manager where required.
Special Features
- Experience of working both in an office environment and in a site based role.
- Comfortable to make decisions with regards to Quality requirements whilst working remote from home office.
- Willing to travel to attend audits and RCA activities at contractor’s locations or sub suppliers in UK/Europe.
- Must be a good communicator at all levels and be able to navigate through situations where conflict arises.
- Willing to question what would appear to be the norm, and provide improvement suggestions and initiatives.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Diploma in Quality Management.
- Auditor – ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in auditing and surveillance of client and contractor activities.
- Experience of review and assessment of vendor QA packs.
- Experience in punch clearance and working with completions teams to address emergent issues prior to handover to commissioning.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Quality Management standards and guidelines including the current versions of BS EN IS0 9001.
