INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing & Logistics Manager to join our Composites business at our Philadelphia, PA Production Facility.

Job Function

The Purchasing & Logistics Manager is responsible for managing all aspects relating to direct and indirect purchasing and logistics at site.  The Purchasing & Logistics Manager reports to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion for the Culture of Prevention
  • Manage raw material inventory processes including cycle counting as well as warehouse, transportation, and other logistics activities
  • Initiate purchase orders for all raw materials to ensure adequate and timely supply for production needs.
  • Plan and monitor deliveries and shipments
  • Oversee the indirect purchasing process
  • Partner and communicate with suppliers and carriers, respond to and address any issues or quality incidents
  • Oversee day to day administration functions, payroll, contractor training, front desk coverage, record retention
  • Supervise warehouse and logistics activities
  • Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost. Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations
  • Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure accurate and timely confirmation of process orders
  • Work with Production to ensure that operators are adequately trained to perform the required SAP transaction (production confirmations, raw material receipts, etc.)
  • ENGAGEMENT of workforce - Communicate business and Site direction in ways that keep employees informed and committed to driving toward the Culture of Prevention, mastering and execution of tasks and outstanding performance in all areas
  • Constructively interface with Functional Corporate leads (Commercial, Product Management, Supply Chain) to meet customer needs and deliver the business plan
  • Accountable for delivering quality, cost effective services to INEOS
  • Provide a work environment that maximizes individual and team performance


  • Bachelor's degree in business admin, logistics, supply chain or relevant industrial field.
  • 5+ year experience in industrial supply chain/logistics role. Preferably chemical industry
  • Needs to be comfortable with feet on the ground in the warehouse directing warehouse staff as well as comfort with office roles (One PFIP and 2 warehouse staff, union)
  • MRP system knowledge required, SAP preferred.  Excellent understanding of Material requirements planning and SAP MRP.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with a positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports
