Project SHE Advisor - Contract

INEOS, one of the largest independent global chemical companies is seeking to recruit a highly motivated professional Project SHE Advisor.

Having committed to long term investment in the Grangemouth Business, we now require an Project SHE Advisor with a strong working knowledge of chemicals manufacturing to play a pivotal role in driving improved HSE performance across all our operating activities.

The Project SHE Advisor will provide SHE expertise, apply local SHE systems and procedures and monitor project work sites to deliver projects to the required SHE standards and within legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Provide expertise and advice on SHE matters to the Project Team to comply with legislative requirements and INEOS standards and policies.
  • Review and approve contractor risk assessments, ensure they cover all risks and have adequate control measures to execute the work safely.
  • Inspect work sites, reporting findings to the Team and take action as required to address SHE issues and ensure the work is executed safely.
  • Apply local SHE systems and procedures to satisfy legislative requirements and meet business goals for SHE.
  • Monitor the SHE performance of construction contractors, take action as required to address issues, and make recommendations to the Team to improve contractor SHE performance.
  • Participate in investigations into SHE incidents, providing SHE expertise to identify root cause and make recommendations to prevent re-occurrence
  • Monitor SHE Key Performance Indicators for construction activities and identify improvements to meet business goals for SHE.

Candidates must also have experience and understanding of the following:

  • Minimum Qualification  NEBOSH Certificate
  • Working towards NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience of project and Turnaround events in petrochemicals and refining.
  • 5 years + experience of working with construction contractors
  • A working knowledge of Control of Work and RAP procedures.
  • A track record in effective consultation and co-operation to develop a pro-active partnership approach to SHE, with both Ineos and contractor employees.
  • Ability to manage several issues simultaneously and prioritise time accordingly.
