The Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for project management through FEL1/2/3 and execute stages with safety, quality, schedule and budget targets.

Internal Factors:

  • Manage contractors (designers, engineers, construction managers)
  • Interface with procurement for competitive bids (engineered equipment, bulks and services)
  • Capture and apply learnings from other INEOS manufacturing sites and subject-matter-experts

C. Accountabilities of the job: describe the main results expected from the job

  • Manage all aspects of small projects including safety, quality, schedule, budget, permitting, acceptance testing, construction, change management, capital spares, start-up/commissioning and adherence to INEOS’s stage gate approval process
  • Lead the project core team, who represents the asset team of operations, process controls, maintenance, inspection, process and reliability engineering and SHE (safety/health/environment)
  • Develop project execution plans and decision support packages for each stage gate  
  • FEL1/2 stages - lead the core team with statement of requirements, project scope development, basis of design, options, risks/mitigations
  • FEL3 & execute stages - lead the core team and engineering contractors with detail engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
  • Operate stage - support Operations during start-up and the initial operational period with troubleshooting and corrective actions  
  • Design projects in compliance with INEOS engineering standards, specifications and relevant industry codes

F. Required profile:

Level of education & Experience in general

·Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

·Minimum 5-7 years engineering and project management experience in the petrochemicals industry

·Experience oversight and collaboratiing with EPC firms

·Experience with construction management in a TAR environmenet

Technical skills

·Experience working with engineering design firms

·Strong budgeting and cost control skills

·Proficient in mechanical engineering

·Demonstrated technical capability to assess vendor quotes

·Demonstrated capabilities to assess work sequencing, optimize project planning and scheduling

·Experience with estimating and scheduling tools

·Capability to assess impact of specifications and standards for both rotating and fixed equipment on reliability and maintainability of production unit

Behavioural skills

  • Proven ability to work with operations, maintenance, contractors

H. Essential Job Functions:  Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Environmental Factors

  • During turnarounds and planned/unplanned shutdowns, work 12-hour shifts, up to 6 days weekly, including night shift

  • Work in confined spaces (e.g. pressure vessels and at heights including scaffolding, stairs, ladders, elevated platforms

  • Read, write and speak fluent English

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; not require sponsorship for employment visa status
