Project Controls Manager - Contract

A truly global company, INEOS is one of the world’s largest chemical companies. 

The ethylene cracker at our INEOS O&P business in Grangemouth has a substantial program of projects underway, comprising the completion of the final phases of a new build furnace, and a suite of projects that are under development for delivery between now and early 2024.

A Project Controls Manager is one of a number of experienced project professionals INEOS is seeking, to join the existing team to support this major investment program.

Job Purpose

Develop and lead the project controls team and associated systems to support the on time and on cost delivery of projects

Principle Accountabilities

  • Provide functional leadership and guidance to project cost, planning and procurement personnel
  • Work with the wider project team and develop key measures for all aspects of a project including engineering, procurement and construction
  • Develop and deliver project reports to support clear progress reporting and good decision making
  • Develop the associated systems and work practices to allow effective tracking and reporting
  • Establish best practise for cost and schedule change control
  • Develop fit for purpose project planning strategies
  • Develop and implement program wide measures to support internal and third party resource planning and to identify performance trends

  • Working in a matrix management environment with many interfaces to third parties including designers, vendors and constructors

  • Projects are multi-disciplinary projects and part of a large program

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a technical discipline
  • Substantial project controls experience
  • Experienced team leader with good decision making skills
  • Able to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels within INEOS and with suppliers / contracting partners
  • Good understanding of project delivery
  • Excellent experience in the deployment and use of supporting software applications including Primavera P6
  • Excellent experience of a wide range of contract forms including EPC, lump sum and reimbursable
