Product Steward & Product Carbon Footprint/GHG Expert

With 14 Polyolefin manufacturing units on 8 production sites in Europe and 3 million tons of capacity, we produce the full range of Polyethylene and Polypropylene, contributing to many aspects of our life today. Those polymers are specifically tailored to provide high value solutions to selected customers in targeted market segments.

We are looking for a Product Steward/Product Carbon Foot Print expert for the Technology organization within the O&P Europe Business Unit. The job has 2 components with a ca 50/50 share. The Product Steward part is to ensure regulatory and product stewardship support for the benefit of several INEOS regions or divisions involved in olefins, catalyst and polyolefins manufacturing. The 2nd part of the role is to coordinate, generate and steer carbon and wider environmental footprint claims for O&P products.

The job holder will be part of the Product Stewardship Team accountable for supporting the

compliance of our Businesses with respect to numerous regulations or practices, including (not

exhaustive):

  • REACH (olefins, catalysts for the manufacture of polyolefins, polyolefins)
  • Emerging “REACH like” regulations in other regions of the world
  • CLP (Classification Labelling and Packaging)
  • Food Contact (EU, US, CH, China, Mercosur, Japan, …)
  • Drinking water
  • Pharma regulations

In addition, the job holder will as PCF & Greenhouse Gases (GHG) expert :

  • Yearly update cradle-to-gate PCF data & green claims of O&P EU products, including hybrids, and bio/advanced recycled attributed products
  • Coordinate with 3rd party auditing bodies for external validation of these data
  • Generate communication material for PCF/environmental data sharing with Sales team and customers
  • Investigate and monitor developing companies/tools for more automated and integrated solutions to calculate PCF (and other environmental indicators)
  • Coordinate/work together with INEOS Climate & Energy Network and other INEOS business units on key product environmental footprint related topics
  • Closely follow up the legislative developments around environmental data requirements e.g. PEF (Product Environmental Footprint), GHG accounting methodology, SPI (Sustainable Product Initiative), DPP (Digital Product Passport), , …

It is a multi-interface function with the ability to steer and advice the company in the field of regulatory and environmental PCF/GHG matters.

Requirements

  • University graduate : Master of Chemistry or Master of Engineering in Chemistry or Energy
  • Proven working expertise in PCF & GHG is a plus
  • Recognised expertise in REACH and food contact is a plus
  • Ability to handle a large number of requests in an organized way
  • Flexibility and open-mindedness
  • Ability to analyse complex legislations and provide the organization with a good practical overview of the consequences for our Businesses
  • High autonomy, good ownership of problems and results oriented (finding solutions)
  • Analytical mind-set & efficient data management
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • English fluent
  • French and/or Dutch fluent is a plus
