Product Planner

Are you interested in joining a winning team? A team whose employees share in the ownership of the business and are empowered to make a difference? INEOS Oxide has a position open for a Product Planner to become a member of the Planning Team.

You ensure the business strategy is implemented through continuous interaction with Business, Product Manager and other functional teams. You participate actively in delivering the EBITDA and Cash targets. You ensure full product availability at all times taking into account shutdown, flexibility & constraints of the business and other Oxide related businesses.

How the role fits in:

You steer the planning process for the production units.

You propose the allocations of products on different production units to:

  • deliver required customer service levels
  • minimize total cost (production, distribution)

In order to maximize sales volumes and minimize costs you have to coordinate with the local production site’s engineers, the Sales team and the Business to understand and challenge internal or external constraints in order to ensure the best plan is implemented.

Accountabilities of the job:

  • Manage the entire unit planning - optimize margin and minimize total cost.
  • Focus on short and mid term S&OP activities.
  • Manage the supply/demand balance and optimize overall performance of the production sites.
  • Implement creative solutions to overcome short-term supply interruptions.
  • Work with and challenge the sales team to ensure sales forecast match sales and business targets.
  • Control and monitor sales allocations when production falls short.
  • Issue a monthly and yearly raw material requirement plan.
  • Lead the weekly meeting with the sites and report to business.
  • Act as the Customer Service Representative for key account customers incl. being point of contact, managing orders.
  • Support business development by identifying potential new business and to implement new products.
  • Ensure effective usage of the logistics fleet – where applicable.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiative linked to planning such as on-site logistics improvements.
  • Manage customer complaints.
  • Cover for the other product planners.

You will report to the planning team leader

Required profile:

University degree/professional bachelor with 5 years’ experience in complex multi-site or multi-products environment.

Technical skills:

  • Broad understanding of supply chain planning processes and concepts.
  • SAP and OMP knowledge and experience is a +.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Outlook, and MS Word.

Behavioural skills:

  • Excellent communication skills and team player.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic & flexible.
  • Analytical & structured approach.
  • Ability to speak several languages (English & Dutch required - French & German optional).
  • Basic understanding of the European chemicals markets: customers, suppliers and competitors.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Trustworthy/dependable.
