Product Development Manager
Ulsan,Korea (the Republic of) (KR)
Purpose /Role of the job
Providing technical solution, scientific knowledge base and technical platform for APAC regional industries to develop new business according to the global & regional R&D strategies & policies, develop new products and improve running business product quality, and support industries & sales to bring value proposition to customers and to achieve Specialties business growth strategy through new business development
Responsibilities/ Accountabilities of the job
- New product and business development
Develop new customers and to satisfy current customers with the improved product and new developed product
Using a working tool as pipeline planner, new product development is supposed to follow the stage-gate process
Provides samples of various deposits and processes for customers/potential customers
- Plant support and cost saving solutions
- Support smooth plant operation and minimize raw material cost by diversification with same quality
- Support product investigations for root cause analysis
- Evaluations including the tracking of accelerated weathering samples; provide measurements, observations, and written report
- Analysis of the competitors’ materials
- Support sales and marketing to increase market volume with proper product range
- Monitoring competitor products and development activities
- Identification of new product and market opportunities
- Analytics
- Harmonize regional product to support sales forces and customers
- Support global R&D for smooth progress
- Advanced understanding of experimental design, chemical theory and analytical instrument
Required profile
Level of education & Knowledge:
- Master degree (or PhD) in chemistry, polymer science or a related discipline
- Fluent in English
Experience in general:
- More than 5 years in field of the polymers as researcher or production engineer or QC engineer, 5 years to Master degree or 7 years for Bachelor.
Technical skills:
- Good knowledge and understanding in polymer and plastics processing.
- properties and performance of various polymers during transformation and in use in a variety of applications
- in-depth understanding of polymer science and application development
- Good understanding in marketing and business.
Competencies, Behavioral skills:
- Good written and verbal English communication skill
- Good interpersonal Skill & team player
