Procurement Specialist

About The Role

The Procurement Specialist ensures that packaging supplies, leased equipment, and logistic services are procured at the lowest possible cost, are in compliance with procurement and SHE policy and procedures, and meet the specific needs of the business.  

• Key responsibilities include:
• Promote and reinforce adherence to all SHE policies and procedures, INEOS Pigments’ 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety, and the 7 Life Saving Rules to service providers
• Establish and maintain healthy vendor relationships 
• Creation and issuance of purchase orders
• Approval/Creation of accounts for new vendors in ERP
• Maintenance of vendor master data records
• Monitor vendor performance for assigned responsibility and manage emergency service requests as required
• Negotiation of contract terms and conditions
• Lead vendor selection and qualification process
• Identification of alternative service providers as required to meet business and stakeholder requirements
• Monitors continuous improvement (service quality, cost effectiveness, stakeholder satisfaction) for assigned services
• Leads improvement initiatives as required.
• Responsible for maintaining vendor records and supporting documentation for SAP and other Contract/Vendor transactions/exchanges
• Develops and evaluates bids/quotations to determine optimum value and to gain alignment from key stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned

About You

You should possess:

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• BS/BA degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years procurement experience is preferred 
• CPM/APP certification preferred
• Prior experience in the procurement of contractor and site services in the chemical manufacturing industry is preferred
• Functionality with various computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional acumen
• Mechanical aptitude

This is a salaried non-exempt day shift position.
