Procurement Specialist

About The Role

The Procurement Specialist ensures maintenance materials are procured at the lowest possible cost, while maintaining compliance to procurement and SHE policy and procedures and to meet the specific needs of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adherence to all SHE policies and procedures and INEOS Pigments’ 20 principles of process and Behavioural Safety and Life Saving Rules
  • Management of supplier relationships with supplier customer service representatives
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders by resolving supplier related issues, expediting orders, obtaining quotes, and researching alternative supply options
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders
  • Maintenance of ERP master data
  • Monitor deliveries for assigned responsibility and expedite orders as required
  • Negotiation of pricing for maintenance materials and indirects,
  • Provide input into supplier selection decisions
  • Identification of alternative suppliers as required to meet business requirements (delivery)
  • Monitors continuous improvement (supplier quality, service, cost effectiveness) for assigned commodities
  • Provides support for improvement initiatives as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining supplier records and supporting documentation for SAP and other Contract/Vendor transactions/exchanges
  • Conducts pricing negotiations for maintenance materials
  • Evaluates bids/quotations to determine optimum value and to gain alignment from key stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

You should possess:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years procurement experience is preferred 
  • CPM/APP certification preferred
  • Prior experience in the procurement of maintenance spare parts and raw materials in the chemical manufacturing industry is preferred
  • Technical understanding of pumps, valves, instrumentation, and fittings
  • Knowledgeable of industry technical standards
  • Functionality with various computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and professional acumen
  • Mechanical aptitude

This is a salaried non-exempt day shift position.
