About our business

Formed in 1998, INEOS is already one of the world’s biggest chemical companies, with annual sales of $65 billion and over 20,000 employees, over 5,000 of them in the US. We’re also one of the safest manufacturing companies in the world, nothing is more important to us. Our products are essential in the modern world, helping to save lives, improve health and enhance standards of living. We do a whole lot more than chemicals too, for example backing sports teams, running a fashion brand, and building a brand new off-road 4x4 vehicle.

At INEOS Aromatics, we produce three chemical products: purified terephthalic acid (PTA), paraxylene (PX – which is used to make PTA) and metaxylene (MX). The polyester industry uses these to make household items such as clothes, carpets, furniture, and food packaging. The work we do at Cooper River supports the US economy by mitigating its dependence on imports to make these products.

INEOS Aromatics is a global business, with 1,300 employees, annual sales of $4 billion and bases in the United States, United Kingdom, China, Belgium, Indonesia and Taiwan.

Working at INEOS

We care about how we deliver these essential products to the world. Above everything, the safety, reliability, and excellence in our operations is fundamental to our success. A $200 million modernization of our Cooper River plant in 2017 reduced emissions by over 100,000 tons and we have won awards for our stewardship of the wetlands and woodlands that surround the site.

INEOS is comprised of a diverse team of engineers, scientists and business professionals dedicated to creating solutions to some of the world’s biggest issues. We are looking for people who can contribute to our passion for reinvention, have a collaborative spirit and will challenge our thinking.
