Process Engineer II

Purpose of role

Continuous improvement in production capability, variable cost, product quality, process safety, environmental compliance, and reliability of an operating unit at Cooper River.

Core Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • This position – and all positions – within the INEOS Aromatics organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following and practicing the INEOS Aromatics 20 Principles of Process and Behavioural Safety as applicable to the position.  Each employee must also commit to following the INEOS Aromatics Life-Saving rules and the site SHE Policies and Procedures including Stop Work Authority and Safe Work Guidelines on a daily basis
  • Monitors, develops, and tests ideas to maximize unit production capability within management of change (moc) guidelines.
  • Monitors, develops, and tests ideas to improve variable cost and product quality within management of change (moc) guidelines.
  • Supports small capital improvement projects to improve unit SHE performance and reliability
  • Assists Process Safety Engineer with process safety incident investigations, release quantity calculations, relief valve scenario development, relief valve sizing, and relief system design modifications.
  • Monitors process performance of key pollution control devices to ensure environmental permit compliance.
  • Supports small capital improvement projects to improve unit SHE performance and reliability

Education, Experience and Expertise

  • Degree required: BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Number of Years’ Experience Required for Competency: 3+ years
  • Certifications Required: None
  • Language(s) Needed: Must have excellent verbal and written skills in English
