Process Engineer

Ineos Composites is seeking a Process Engineer for our Composites business in the greater Los Angeles area (Commerce, CA).

Job Function

The Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining the DeltaV control system, ensuring that batch recipes are programmed accurately and run smoothly.  To accomplish this, the process engineer will work closely with plant and corporate personnel.  The process engineer will be involved with various Safety, Health and Environmental activities and projects to ensure the plant runs safely and efficiently. The Process Engineer reports to the Manager of Quality and Process Improvement (Technical Manager).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on specific quality/process problems, as identified by the Technical Manager
  • Develop manufacturing procedures and operational procedures for the plant, for new and modified processes. Coordinate some operational training of operators, blenders and supervisors on procedures
  • Participate in role as defined in the plant Emergency Response Master Plan
  • Investigate quality and EH&S incidents / perform action items as assigned
  • Conduct Delta V programming tasks as assigned
  • Perform ISO 9001 audits
  • Perform PHA studies on the plant processes
  • Perform SAP functions on the Recipe management side (BOM, Master Recipes, PVS, ETC.)
  • Supervise production personnel during manufacturing supervisor absences, due to manufacturing supervisor training, vacation and illnesses
  • All new hires will be required to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a chemical plant environment (including Co-Op or internship experience if applicable)
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to wearing respiratory equipment in accordance with the INEOS Respiratory Protection Plan
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of all Microsoft applications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be a team player yet work independently to achieve goals
  • Willing to train as a back-up Production Supervisor and work shift work when required
  • Willing to travel approximately 10% of the time
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 and/or SAP is a plus
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
