  1. Key Result Areas: Incident free operations, Adherence to INEOS Styrolution SHE guidelines, Compliance with local regulations.

    Major Activities:
  • Participate on regular safety training at site:
    • Safety rules and guidelines
    • Operating procedures
    • Incident sharing and learning
    • Permit to work and Risk Assessment, etc.
  • Active support to the safety culture at site and work safely for incident free operation.
  • Understand and follow annual SHE improvement plan for the site.
  • Work in line with SHE KPIs and Targets set by management from time to time.
  • Contribute to Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program at site.
    • Participate on training at site to take BBSO to next level of reporting.
  • Support Site SHE committee to resolve safety issues and drive SHE performance.
    • Incident reporting and investigation, MOC, action item tracking
    • Collaborate to track and close all SHE related action items from audit, plant walkthroughs.
    • Contribute to INEOS Styrolution Asset Care program
  • Follow site procedures aligned with INEOS Group Guidance Notes (IGGNs).
  • Responsible for
    • Following and practicing INEOS 20 principles of Behavior Safety and Process Safety at site through site rules and procedures
    • Following and practicing Life Saving Rules at site
    • Safety of other Employees, Contractors, Visitors and partners at site
    • Following Permit to Work as per the site procedure
    • Following Management of Change (MOC) as per the site procedure.
    • Participating in HAZOPs at site as per procedure
  • Work in compliance with all legal regulations.
    • Adherence to site licenses and permits.
  • Participate on the INEOS Styrolution Sustainability program at site.
  • Stop work whenever there is an unsafe condition and immediately inform the Shift Leader and/or Head of Department.
  • Directly intervene with those in his working area not using PPE or not following INEOS Styrolution standards and procedures.

Outcome: Zero incident/accident in the plant with sustainable and safe operation.

  1. Key Result Areas: Basic Engineering

    Major Activities:
  • Responsible for the support of the  engineering activities with respect to the Extrusion installations from basic engineering to detailed engineering through start-up, to meet the target start-up dates, and HSE performance for the project.
  • Establish and lead processes to ensure the engineering and design integrity is not compromised during the design, construction execution and commissioning phases.
  • Responsible for the commissioning  and start-up up to normal operation of the extruders, including under water pelletizing and pellet conveying into the logistic silos.
  •  It is expected that this person will stay on post after startup as full time process engineer for the ABS unit(s).  At that point, the position will report to the  ABS operations manager.

    • Project Engineering according to design guidelines and with-in cost & schedule
  1. Key Result Areas: Detail Engineering

    Major Activities:
    • Liaising with other process experts –and engineers to optimize and finalize the process design
    • Multi-disciplinary review and Engineering Integration
    • HAZOP Reviews
    • Review Engineering Deliverables / Work Packages for completeness
    • Review Vendor Documents for completeness
    • Participate at Multi-disciplinary Engineering review session including 3D Model Review
    • Interfacing with Project, Technology, Operations Team , vendors
    • Support Construction team for site queries

      Outcome:
    • Rework due to engineering to be minimum
    • Ensure Engineering Assurance and Integrity of the Project  & Compliance to latest Codes & Standards
    • Project Engineering according to design guidelines and with-in Cost & Schedule

  1. Key Results Areas : construction, commissioning and startup

    Major Activities:
  • Supports the training of day – and shift workers (+/- 250 employees)
  • Prepares the  extrusion plant manual for training purposes and for performing routine tasks by the operators after startup. This includes process descriptions, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP’s), critical task assessment, PPE-matrix,…… 
  • Member of the startup team
  • Responsible for the organization, coordination and support of the  (pre)commissioning and startup activities in the Extrusion installations. This includes activities such as cleaning, flushing, field verifications, leak tests of piping and equipment, performance evaluation and functional tests of equipment and unit packages, support to E&I for loopchecks, waterruns,… essential for bringing the KAIMEN 1 & 2 plants into safe routine operation. This will also require the preparation of the (pre)commissioning – and startup manuals (procedures, instructions, checklists,…..)
  • Participate at the PSSR (Pre Startup Safety Review) with project manufacturing team
  • Ensuring  implementation/compliance of all IGGN and internal INSTY recommendations

    Outcome:
  • No recordables during construction, commissioning and startup
  • Safe, smooth and efficient transition from construction to commissioning and startup phase
  • Startup of the plant within the proposed timeline and product on-spec

Level of education & Knowledge:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Relevant working experience of minimum 5 years, preferably in the chemical process industry
  • Experience working in a project environment
  • Strong English and Chinese written and oral communications skills required

Technical skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge in Process Engineering in general
  • Knowledge about polymer chemistry is a plus
  • Has solid understanding and working knowledge of process specification of instruments, heat exchangers, control valves, pumps, compressors, filters, mixers and other key equipment
  • Experience with gear pumps, extrusion, granulation (e.g. underwater pelettizing),pellet/powder conveying, loss-in-weight feeding of powders/pellets etc. is a plus
  • Experience with process hazard analysis (e.g. Hazop, LOPA)
  • Solid understanding of the P&ID development process
  • Design of safety systems (including relief systems) in line with INSTY standards
