For our office/site in Nandesari we are looking for a

 

Process Chemical Engineer - All plants & sites  (F/M)

 

  1. Purpose /Role of the job: Describe in 1 phrase what contribution the job is expected to make to the organisation’s objectives
  • Provide chemical engineering & process safety expertise to project team for CapEx projects in  Engineering - Basic & Detailed, Technical coordination during stages of procurement, construction and commissioning, with the perspective of  process engineering and SHE mindset.
  • Lead in Process engineering based Capex projects from ‘Concept to commissioning’.

 

B. Environment/Context/Complexity of the job: Describe the most important internal and external factors influencing the job

Internal:

Total compliance to INSTY ‘SHE rules/guidelines’, Conceptualization, development & approval of Capex in compliance with INSTY Guidelines, Ensure the best engineering standards are followed and Implemented for projects from ‘Concept to Commissioning’.

 

External:

Compliance to, all the statutory requirements of law/regulations.

Coordination with Project consultants and Contractors.

 

C. Responsibility/Accountability of the job: Describe the main results expected from the job

 

  1. Key Result Areas: Project Development & Approval 

 

Major Activities :

    • Develop specific Capex projects through various stages of FEL levels.
    • Conceptualize and develop scope, cost, timeline of Capex proposals in coordination with functional teams & engineering consultants.
    • Prepare Activity list & scheduling for Project, all in coordination with project controlling group.
    • Prepare final Scope of supply work and cost estimation according to INSTY CapEx guidelines and approval requirements (documentation delivery on time)
    • Prepare Project Approval Proposal & Presentation to Head Project Management, to then seek final approvals according to the Delegation of Authority guidelines.

 

Outcome: Project proposal development according to INSTY Guidelines

 

  1. Key Result Areas: Engineering –Concept/ Basic/ Detailed

 

Major Activities :

  • Lead Basic Engineering activities like; PFDs, P&IDs, Mass Balance, Energy Balance, etc. , with help of OPS team and Consultant.
  • Coordination with OPS team members for all cross-functional data like Process data, Electrical/ Mechanical Load list, civil layouts, etc.
  • Participate in HAZOP /SIL study and incorporate the recommendations into project.
  • Ensure all the ‘agreed to’ recommendations are implemented in relevant documents
  • Participate in Detailed Engineering activities like; equipment list & specifications, equipment & piping layouts, Load list, civil layouts, Instrument list etc.
  • Participate in DCS (Control system) related engineering activities pertaining to the process design & controls.
  • Ensure design basis aligns with INEOS Styrolution Asset Care program

 

Outcome: Preparation of Required Engineering package as per Project objective and specification.

 

  1. Key Result Areas: Technical Procurement support of Project material

 

Major Activities :

  • Preparation of Process Data Sheets and BOQ for Material & Services
  • Carry out Technical bid Comparison for Equipment/ services in conjunction with procurement lead from process point of view
  • Ensure technical clarification for timely execution of Orders
  • Post ordering activities; like – design/drawing approval in line with the agreed schedule.
  • Coordinating & participating in stage wise inspection.
  • Support procurement to expedite timely payment to ensure timely delivery 

 

 

      Outcome:

Project material procured as per defined specification with approved technical vendor, following INSTY Procurement procedures and Delegation of Authority guidelines

 

  1. Key Result Areas: Construction & Installation activities of projects

 

Major Activities :

  • Project scheduling in coordination with Project controlling group for relevant areas
  • Leading the on-site installation activities, with regular monitoring to ensure timely execution of project, as planned
  • Coordination with Function Head/OPS team for shutdown planning to meet timely completion, as required, depending on Project
  • Ensure all the safety standard are followed during engineering, construction and commissioning
  • Ensure desired quality in work, through close coordination with Contractors & Consultants.
  • Ensure regular safety training at site for employees, contractors and visitors, including

      “Behavior Based Safety programs

  • Ensure use of KMS for incident reporting (including Near miss & first aid)  and MOC

 

Outcome:

Construction activity completed according to planned timeline, defined quality aspect, and within budget.

 

  1. Key Result Areas: Coordination for Control System requirement from Process Engineering perspective

 

Major Activities :

    • Participate in development of Control Philosophy in Coordination with OPS team and engineering consultant
    • Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance test) & SAT (Site acceptance Test), in coordination with Operation, SHE & engineering consultant team
    • Ensure implementation of system design and control philosophy by simulation thru appropriate participation
    • Help facilitate training activities on new systems/screens with Operations & supplier

 

Outcome:

      Design, Installation & commissioning of Control System as per design specifications

 

  1. Key Result Areas: Pre-Commissioning Activities & Start up

 

Major Activities:

  • Participate in preparation of detailed schedule of pre-commissioning and startup along with OPS team and SCM
  • Participate for PSSR(Pre Startup Safety Review) with OPS/SCM, SHE and GTO team (if required)
  • Ensuring  implementation/compliance of all PSSR recommendation
  • Lead in pre-Startup activities of control system, loop checking, calibrations etc. thru water run, pilot run till establishment of designed process
  • Support final commissioning led by OPS team
  • Lead the on-site coordination with suppliers, consultants & OPS for imparting training for relevant Equipment/ systems.

 

Outcome:

      Safe & Successful startup and handing over of Project as per defined scope

F. Required profile:

Level of education & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical)

 

Experience in general:

  • Relevant experience of 10 – 12 years of project execution.

Technical skills:

  • SHE knowledge (OSHA, Hazop/ SIL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Chemical Engineering and unit operation and technology.
  • Process engineering (Process development, Energy Optimization. Exposure to ISO 50001)
  • Indian & International standard of quality related to Processes
  • Computer proficiency
  • SAP

 

Job Requirement:

 

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Walking up to 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces

 

Legal Training Requirements:

  • Under the provision (111-A) of the Factories Act 1948, reading with Gujarat Factory Rules 1963 about General Health & Safety, Emergency response, handling of hazardous substance
