Ineos Acetyls Hull is the European manufacturing facility and is of significant strategic importance to the global business, with a focus on manufacturing petrochemicals as well as research & technology. The Hull site produces three key products and operates six discreet manufacturing plants.
Key Accountabilities:
- Post holder shall keep abreast of and advise on all HSE requirements relevant to the process control discipline and in particular safety systems.
- Post holder shall keep abreast of innovations within the process control discipline and communicate these appropriately across site. To continue to seek out and promote new control and analytical technology that will offer financial, safety and reliability benefits.
- Act as the overall design authority for all site advanced control, process control, DCS and safety system modifications and ensure the application of global standards.
- Maintain and develop all discipline related systems and procedures and provide assurance that all process automation procedures are adhered to.
- Assure that the technical integrity of all process control and safety system equipment meets with safety and integrity standards.
- Assure any deviations from these standards are identified and authorized, with the reasons documented and retained.
- Assure the security of all process control and safety system computer networks in-line with company expectations.
- Assure individual competence and provision of the requisite training of all engineers and technicians working on process control and safety systems.
- Act as the site’s ‘Technical Sourcing Authority’ for all process control and safety system equipment or environmental benefits to the site, in line with the site’s manufacturing vision.
- Maintain functional health and capability, including succession planning
- Maintain fully supported and fit for purpose process automation solutions at lowest cost
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements within process automation field.
Essential Experience, Educational and Personnel Requirements:
- Degree qualified in relevant subject
- Extensive experience in process automation within the petrochemical industry.

- Wise decisions – deal with complex technical (and ambiguous) situations.
- Sound understanding of maintenance practices to manage petrochemical plant availability.
