FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth.

Having committed to significant investment over the next few years, we now require Area Authorities with relevant experience to play a key role in the delivery and support of this growth in our business.

Job Purpose

The Pipeline Integrity Specialist is accountable to for ensuring compliance with INEOS FPS and international engineering standards, best industry practices and regulatory bodies with regard pipelines engineering and pipeline integrity management.

Accountable for integrity management activities for both onshore and offshore FPS pipelines assets including input to develop inspection strategies and risk management processes.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Preparation of Inspection, Maintenance and Repair strategies
  • Development of onshore and subsea pipeline integrity management strategies
  • Develop scope of ILI, supervise execution, review inspection results and develop long-term investigation and repair plans
  • Carry out pipeline defect assessment studies for onshore / offshore pipelines & recommend repair / remediation methods
  • Review, update and manage pipeline inspection plans and reports in Maximo & Credo
  • Provide pipeline engineering expertise to projects:
    • Technical focal point / resolve pipeline related engineering queries identifying appropriate engineering methods and procedures
  • Lead pipeline engineering assessments and apply risk assessment processes to assist management decision process
  • Provide technical expertise in relation to pipeline inspection technologies and feasibility
  • Lead and manage set piece inspection activities
  • Prepare yearly annual integrity review for pipelines and risers
  • Update of pipelines regulatory documentation to ensure compliance
  • Support to production of monthly KPI and management reporting

Qualifications, knowledge and Skills

  • Desired qualifications; University degree in engineering with Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
  • Min 5+ years industry experience in Pipeline Engineering / Pipeline Integrity management
  • Detailed knowledge of pipelines threats, degradation mechanisms and mitigations
  • Detailed knowledge of pipeline inspection technologies and experience in execution
  • Pipeline inspections, pipeline defect assessments, risk assessment and validation processes
  • Knowledge of pipelines legislation
  • Leadership skills & ability to manage small teams and projects
