PTA is a raw material used in the manufacture of polyesters used to make fibers, textiles, film, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. PX is a feedstock for PTA production. We also produce metaxylene, a feedstock for PX production.

PTA Sales & Analytics Manager

Role Synopsis:

The main purpose of the PTA Sales & Analytics Manager is to increase PTA sales volume and margin capture through own portfolio of customers / prospects and by providing market insight on PTA / downstream markets to the wider team.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the volume and margin delivery of PTA / co-product sales to those customers and prospective customers.
  • Accountable for managing the end-to-end business relationship with a portfolio of specialty customers and prospective customers.
  • Responsible for developing proposals, gaining internal offer alignment with Commercial Director, negotiating with customers / prospective customers within pre-approved boundaries.
  • Responsible for meeting targets for customer payment terms and payments by the customer against those terms.
  • Responsible for gathering, validating, and interpreting current market data. Sales volume and margin structure is influenced by a complex set of environmental factors. This role must understand and advise on PTA and PET global supply /demand, trade flows, industry balances, PTA and PET economics, local and global competition, cost to serve, arbs. Responsible for sharing market insights to the Commercial Manager and within the team, allowing the business to act and gain commercial value.
  • Responsible for updating / developing the long-term supply / demand view for strategic planning.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Education / Experience

  • 4-year degree in science, engineering or business, BS or equivalent, minimum.  MBA preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, technical, and/or commercial experience.

Technical:

  • Some knowledge of the polyester value chain.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Some sales, market analysis, supply chain preferred but not required.
