INEOS has an opportunity for a Process Engineer at our Pittsburgh, PA plant.

Job Function

The Process Engineer is responsible for; ensuring the plant operates in a safe manner and drives a culture of “Safety First” (the Culture of Prevention), troubleshooting day to day operational issues, and maintaining the DeltaV control system, by ensuring that batch recipes are programmed accurately and efficiently.   The Process Engineer will be involved in continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, leading to increased throughput, enhanced quality and lower costs.  All job activities must be executed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with OSHA PSM, the INEOS 20 Principles and ISO9001:2015.   The Process Engineer reports to the Site Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Champion of the Culture of Prevention
  • Safe, secure, legally compliant, and reliable operation of the plant
  • Assure strict compliance with INEOS 20 Principles
  • Assure strict compliance with OSHA PSM and other applicable US Laws.
  • Assure comprehensive and preventative SHE management processes are in place and participate in audits, corrective action completion, and incident investigations
  • Identify area’s for improvement and lead implementation of improvements
  • Manage the day to day operational issues that arise, troubleshoot and correct
  • Optimize plant operation through the use of historical data (Aspen IP.21)
  • Lead site’s continuous improvement program and ensure site culture remains on driving towards continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Perform PHA studies on the plant processes
  • Support new product implementation by participation in new product reviews, develop and maintaining batch work instructions, SAP BOMs and support initial batches in the plant
  • Develop manufacturing and operational procedures for the plant, for new and modified processes.  Coordinate some training of operators, blenders and supervisors on procedures
  • Work closely with other departments to optimize plant operation (raw material inventory, mechanical reliability, SHE program implementation etc….)
  • May work on/support capital and expense projects to improve  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a chemical plant environment
  • Experience in a refining/chemical plant operations in a plant environment, with experiences in distributive process control, batch operations, maintenance, procurement, and quality control.
  • Strong bias to excellent SHE performance
  • Proficient computer skills required
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence across the organization and accomplish through others
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with and lead cross-functional teams
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Detail oriented and organized
