INEOS Composites is a global chemicals business with sales volume of 320 kte and revenue in excess of $1 billion. The Composites business has 6 manufacturing operations in the US, 1 in Brazil, 4 in Europe, 2 in China along with offices and headquarters in Ohio, Barcelona and Shanghai. The Composites Business primary products include unsaturated polyester resins (UPRs), vinyl ester resins (VERs) and gel coats.
INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager to join our INEOS Composites business at our Philadelphia, PA location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Manufacturing function. This position will report to Regional Manager NA Composites.
The Philadelphia Site Manager manages all aspects relating to the operation of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Site including SHE, reliability, costs, quality, people, and community.
INEOS Composites hourly employees are represented by the United Auto Workers which covers operations and maintenance employees. In addition, there are common environmental permits with which the site must comply.
Philadelphia uses, makes, stores, handles, and/or ships large quantities of hazardous materials including styrene, dicyclopentadiene, maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride and various UPRs and VERs. Specific regulatory requirements exist due to the nature and location of our operations. A rigorous and preventative approach to safety, health, security and the environment is of the utmost importance.
The INEOS Composites Philadelphia chemical plant is situated adjacent to the Philadelphia Port Authority. The community demands a safe and environmentally sound operation, particularly given the nature of the materials at the site. Maintaining solid relationships with elected officials, public safety agencies, regulatory authorities and the media is a must. The Site Manager meets regularly with state and local law enforcement officials to discuss local safety, security, and other concerns.
Responsibilities include:
Champion for the Culture of Prevention
Safe, secure, legally compliant and reliable operation of the Philadelphia site:
- Assure strict compliance with INEOS 20 Principles
- Assure strict compliance with OSHA PSM and other applicable US Laws.
- Assure comprehensive and preventative SHE management processes are in place including audits, corrective action tracking, and incident investigations.
- Organize and support emergency response and action plans.
- Review and approve documents submitted to regulatory agencies and act as the company designee.
- Assure site security plans are maintained, current, and are consistent with corporate directives and chemical industry best practices.
- Assure compliance with ISO standards.
- Strict Fixed cost control and leadership for each area on Site.
- Variable cost understanding, control, and efficiency for each area on Site.
- Short term and strategic long term CAPEX portfolio development, implementation, and management for long term reliability and viability of the entire Site.
- Develop Operating and Maintenance strategies to drive asset integrity and reliable operations.
- Budget development and presentation to Senior Composites leadership.
- Instill a strong performance bias for all employees utilizing INEOS Performance Management Process.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline; MBA a plus.
15+ years in refining/chemical plant operations in a plant environment, with experiences in a broad spectrum of areas including batch operations maintenance, finance, SHE, procurement and logistics/infrastructure is desirable.
