The Position: Operations Technician -Will safely operate the SAN (Styrene Acrylonitrile), Rubber, OSBL, Tank Farm, Utilities, and Compounding sections of the ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) Plant to produce polymer that meets internal manufacturing and customer specifications.
What you will do:
- This position – and all positions - within the INEOS Styrolution organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position. These are posted within each INEOS Styrolution facility. Each employee must also commit to following INEOS’ Life-Saving rules on a daily basis. These rules are posted also within each INEOS Styrolution facility.
- Maintains high standards of unit housekeeping per INEOS Styrolution Asset Care program.
- Report all incidents including activations of safety critical alarms/systems or exceedances of operating envelopes.
- Participation as needed for incident investigations, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA
- Operates within a team of 10 operators to cover the SAN/Rubber/Utilities Outside and Boards; Sections include: 1.) Tank Farm/Utilities/OSBL 2.) Compounding/Logistics 3.) Rubber Outside, 4.) SAN Outside, 5.) Rubber Board, and 6.) SAN Board.
- Completes safe work permits for the production area including field JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for every job.
- Reports any equipment problems to Maintenance and/or Shift Supervisor
- Secures equipment for maintenance and returns to service after maintenance is complete
- Monitors process to ensure the unit is performing within safe operating conditions
What you will bring:
- Requires a minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or ability to read, write, and perform mathematics at this level;
- ONE or the following is also REQUIRED:
- Associates degree or Certificate in Process Technology, or an Engineering Degree in a related field of study, including Chemical Engineering OR;
- Two (2) or more years of relevant working knowledge of chemical processing technology and operations obtained as an Operator in a chemical plant, refinery or gas processing plant.
- Three (3) years experience working in a similar role within a petrochemical or polymer plant is desirable.
- Requires a high degree of initiative and ingenuity to work with all site disciplines and departments.
Physical demands:Requires working inside (approx 70%) and outside (approx 30%) in various weather conditions; Ability to work at heights and potetntially in confied spaces; Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs or less occaisionally.
