Occupational Health Coordinator

About The Role
 
The Occupational Health Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the medical department, ensuring that the employees are fit for duty and receive appropriate medical care when necessary.  Provides 24/7 direction for medical and nursing care.  Acts as Ashtabula Complex interface to the medical community to facilitate case management of injured employees.  Manages all aspects of the Ashtabula Complex Medical Department including but not limited to:  physician support, supplies, wellness activities, return to work exams, case management responsibilities, etc.  It is designated as a Safety Critical role.
Key activities include:

•    Adhere to INEOS Pigments’ 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules
•    Oversee First Responder Program, coordinate educational activities and standing orders  
•    Provide triage for accidents and illnesses 24/7
•    Administer and coordinate Short Term Disability Process and Transitional Duty Program
•    Administer and coordinate the annual / bi-annual / post-offer physicals, perform testing for exams
•    Administer and coordinate Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan, maintain and provide necessary supplies
•    Coordinate AED Program for the Complex
•    Administer and coordinate the Hearing Protection Program, including majority of testing
•    Administer and coordinate Drug and Alcohol Free Work Place Program, perform testing when appropriate, select third party vendor
•    Oversee and coordinate wellness activities
•    Oversee medical records for the complex and ensure HIPPA standards are maintained

About You
 
You should possess:

•    Registered Nurse in State of Ohio (BSN preferred)
•    5 years of experience in Occupational Health or Emergency Department Setting
•    COHN preferred
•    Current BLS Certification
•    BAT Certification
•    Hearing Conservation Certification
•    NIOSH – Approved Spirometry Certification
•    Excellent verbal and written communication 
•    Ability to function independently and autonomously
•    Good clinical skills and ability to make independent clinical decisions
•    Triage Skills
•    Ability to multi-task and manage multiple issues simultaneously
•    Computer literate and a working knowledge of Word and Excel programs

Schedule/Hours 
This is a salaried, day shift, with on-call responsibilities, position.
