Occupational Health Adviser

Main role purpose:

The post holder provides a service that supports the Company’s aim to keep people well at work through the implementation of procedures and policies that are aligned to recognised professional standards and Company requirements. 

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Maintain clinical procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and apply these to implement, manage and conduct robust health surveillance and assessment programmes.
  • Provide clear, unbiased and pragmatic professional advice to the business.
  • Promote health, wellbeing and the delivery of care related initiatives.
  • Assist with the identification and management of workplace hazards.
  • Provide counselling, support and advice to employees and identify where external support is required.

Key skills & experience:

  • Registered General Nurse with active and current registration.
  • Able to report and document medical dialogues, results and opinions that fulfil the legal obligations of the clinician and the needs of the business.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen awareness of GDPR and confidentiality obligations.
  • Able to be able to prioritise and utilise time effectively.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and other Office applications; experience of eOPAS advantageous. 
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application in the workplace.
  • Proven continuous professional development to ensure knowledge base remains current.
