NPD Analyst (SAP)

  • Scale up business with huge investment made in a brand new state of the art manufacturing facility for 2022 and a number of exciting product launches into 2023/24 and beyond.
  • With an extremely exciting innovation pipeline for 2023 the NPD Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving business performance and be able to add value from Q1 2023.

Due to the urgency of the recruit the business can only accept applications from candidates with 4 weeks notice period or less.

The Role: Material Master data and the Bill of Materials drive all operational build, costing and ultimately the Cost of sale / cost of manufacture for Hygienics products and overall business. The purpose of the role is to take ownership and play a fundamental role in these business outputs of which New Product Development is key. Accompanying to this is owning and driving major components in the build of New Products to equip production and sales for Hygienics business.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage material, customer and vendor master data for all Hygienics products and associated drivers in SAP. Master data includes all components to build a product or Bill of Material (BOM) in the business. Master data (BOM) drives all operational build, costings and ultimate P&L for Hygienics products and overall business. Especially important for introduction of new products to drive the right business decisions.
    • Administer and maintain accurate master data for all Hygienics customers, vendors, products, and materials within the SAP system.
    • Maintain, review, and monitor systems to ensure data accuracy.
    • Developing and implementing processes for data governance such as data quality checks and data audits.
    • Work with and support other departments to resolve master data issues.
    • Ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency of master data across business systems.
  • Contribute to input and build of net delivered prices for products (often referenced within the business as COGS).
    • Working closely with Procurement on pricing including periodic updates of raw material pricing and contracts.
    • Driving value-based decisions on product costings including but not limited to all packaging and raw materials.
    • On the front end working closely with sales to support correct pricing strategies whilst targeting Gross Margin % targets.
  • Support Commercial and Sales function Financial Business Case/P&L builds with Finance team to drive profitability targets and appropriate value-driven decisions throughout Gate process for New Product Development.
  • Support New Product Development from inception at innovation stage (Gate Zero) all the way through to production, storage and sale to customer to drive data-driven value-add decisions against profitability targets including tracking of spend incl. against budget. Examples include development of new Hygienics Household/Surface care range and Hand Wash launches in to France and Germany.
  • Lead smaller NPD projects (fast-tracks) and Management of Change (MoC) projects especially when dominated by master data phase-out and changes in conjunction with lead Project Manager.
  • Manage all barcodes for Hygienics products for both products and packaging under GS1 international scheme. A barcode is a unique product identifier and critical to the success of ongoing product management and new product development for sales. Own the internal database and supply for the artwork process within NPD whilst working closely with sales for launches.
  • Support Product Information Management (PIM) with the Brand & Marketing team to supply sales with all relevant information associated with Hygienics products including but not limited to barcodes, HY codes, etc. Will revolve around effective sharepoint management and access.
  • Take a lead on assessing gaps in reporting requirements associated with the above, either in NPD tracking or specifically supporting sales with pricing analyses, etc.

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable commercial accountability skills (e.g. building cost of goods profiles etc.)
  • Minimum of a Level 4 qualification (HNC, Level 4 NVQ or equivalent) in a Business Administration, Business Management or Finance field.
  • Previous experience inputting data into SAP for Master Data or Materials Management
  • IT Literate, competent in the use of Microsoft packages
