Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Main role purpose:
The post holder plans and delivers the mechanical and piping activities for the Antwerp ECU manufacturing site to ensure both legal and Company standards are adhered to and that the current and future targets for SHE, asset condition, production and fixed costs are achieved.

  • Ensure own activities and initiatives respect and are compliant with Company rules on behaviour and process safety, and external legislation, for all relevant areas such as safety, energy, environment, sustainability, policies and ethics.
  • Responsible for maintaining, improving and expanding the long term asset plan (LTAP) containing maintenance and replacement strategies based on the criticality of the equipment and lead (CAPEX) projects resulting from the LTAP.

  • Ensure implementation of sound predictive and preventive maintenance programmes, based on the Long Term Asset Plan.

  • Provide technical support to the maintenance crews in troubleshooting, mainly for static and rotating equipment, but also for non-standard maintenance interventions.

  • Coach and train the technicians and operators where needed, to improve or maintain technical skills and to improve reliability awareness.

Key skills & experience:

  • Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Some experience (5 years) in reliability engineering, maintenance supervision and/or engineering (projects) in a (petro)chemical company is required to develop aspects such as maintenance and engineering processes, cost analysis and budgeting.
  • A good understanding of maintenance, manufacturing processes and business expectations is added value.
  • Proficient in Dutch, English and (basic) French
