Job Title:

Mechanical Planner

Role synopsis:

The Mechanical Planner is responsible for planning routine maintenance work which enables the craftsmen to have the tools and materials needed to work productively. The position also supports Capital Projects and TARs as needed.  The Mechanical Planner interacts with the on-site Maintenance Supervisors, Operations Maintenance Coordinators, and craftsmen. The Mechanical Planner provides detailed work plans that comply with all applicable procedures, policies, and codes to insure the protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees and the community in which we operate.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Provide high quality work plans with attention to detail that will ensure efficient craft work and solutions that solve the root cause of problems.
  • Provide detailed work plans that comply with the INEOS Aromatic‘s planning procedure and all other applicable policies and codes to insure the protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees and the community in which we operate.
  • Plan work in SAP for the mechanical crafts on site.
  • Monitor and maintain the unit priority list to ensure that planned work meets the needs of the production department. Change SAP priority when timing is changed by production department.
  • Continually look for opportunities to reduce cost through process improvements and cost effective material sourcing.
  • Plan all routine work and scheduled outages in assigned units.  Walk each job in the field to ensure that the scope of work and materials required are clearly understood.
  • Enter requisitions for equipment, material and services per plant specifications and detailed procedures for all mechanical planned work on the site.
  • Pick parts for jobs on the daily schedule to ensure the craftsmen have all the parts for the scheduled jobs.
  • Manage material for all mechanical planned work in the site.
  • Insure stores inventory by evaluating requirements, specifications & quantities.
  • Run SAP variant on a daily basis to review the list of Notifications for the Mechanical craft.
  • Be knowledgeable of the Management of Change (MoC) process. Do not plan any changes without an approved MoC.
  • Identify errors in Bill of Material (BOM’s) and update as directed by engineering or supervision.
  • Fill in for plant coverage & special assignments as needed.
  • Compliance with and promotion of different behavioral and process safety initiatives and measures – supporting 20 INEOS SHE Principles, IGGN’s, SHE KPI’s, risk assessments, etc.  These initiatives are reviewed on yearly appraisals.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of Mechanical craftsman experience in industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite and maintenance information systems
  • Primavera knowledge is a plus.
  • Good Communication skills (Oral and Written).
  • English – Fluent
