Manufacturing Manager
Role synopsis:
This position provides leadership, coaching, resources, boundary conditions and motivation to help the area operating team successfully accomplish their performance contract targets and objectives. The incumbent oversees all phases of the unit’s operation.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Has responsibility for overall site operation.
- Sets major direction and strategic objectives for the operations teams. Provides operations strategy, variable cost, and fixed cost input to site strategic plan modification.
- Requires adherence to unit and plant operating, safety and administrative procedures and practices.
- Provides leadership and direction to unit personnel to achieve unit and plant objectives including production, variable cost budgets, fixed cost budgets, and site optimization objectives and strategies.
- Establishes boundary conditions, targets, objectives and desired behaviors for the area team.
- Holds unit personnel accountable for achieving objectives.
- Mentors the Asset Managers, Engineers and shift personnel.
- Manages personnel performance issues.
- Performs as single point of authority for operations planning and execution.
- Ensures resources are available to allow personnel to achieve objectives.
- Participates as an active member of the Site Leadership Team.
- Provides strategic direction to the Operations team to innovate and apply skills to improve safety and quality, reduce costs, and increase production.
- Creates an environment that fosters employee development and involvement.
- Provides operations strategy and variable cost input to site strategic plan modification.
- Compliance with and promotion of different behavioral and process safety initiatives and measures – supporting 20 INEOS SHE Principles, IGGN’s, SHE KPI’s, risk assessments, etc. These initiatives are reviewed on yearly appraisals.
- Understands site environmental aspects and how the Operations Area affects the environment, sets performance objectives and provides leadership for area and the site to minimize impact on the environment, communicates the importance of these issues to site personnel, and supports the site Environmental Management System (EMS).
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Education/Experience:
- Degree required: 4-year college in an engineering discipline or related technical field
- Number of Years Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or refining and a proven record of leadership accomplishments
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills in English
