The Position: Maintenance Technician  - is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, availability and maintenance meets demanding production levels.

What you will do:  

  • Provide effective maintenance of rotating or fixed mechanical equipment and maintenance systems as well as the associated administration.
  • During plant outages, coordinate and direct the activities of contractors of a different craft or experience level.
  • Collect equipment performance data, observe trends, and make recommendations.
  • Identify and request parts, supplies, and tools needed for repairs and replenish maintenance inventory
  • Support INEOS safety culture which includes participating, as needed, in incident investigations, Management of Change, and Process Hazard Analysis.  

What you will bring: 

  • 5+ years of machinery/rotating equipment related mechanical equipment maintenance
  • 3+ years’ experience in an industrial plant setting; preferably in petrochemical or refining
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Ability to interpret pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics, drawings, manuals, and set-up procedures
  • Read and understand instructions of a technical nature reflecting the requirements of the job
  • Ability to use all types of hand tools
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications and SAP

It is a plus if you also have:

  • Journeyman Millwright experience
  • Experience with troubleshooting & repair of blowers, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps, fans and material handling equipment, positive displacement pumps is preferred
  • Experience in the repair and overhaul of large centrifugal compressors and multi-stage steam turbines is preferred
  • Completion of college level Basic Millwright/Machinist program
  • NCCER Certification as an Industrial Millwright
  • NCCO Crane and NCCO Rigger (or NCCER Rigger)
  • Vibration level I certified

Physical demands: 

  • Stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, grasp, and reach throughout the shift, including over varying terrain, including ditches, dikes, and catwalks.

  • Climb 75' stairs and 200' ladders and enter vessels at various heights through 24" manways

  • Wear, fit and use a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus, earplugs, goggles, safety glasses, radio, and any other safety equipment

  • Feel vibrations in pumps, vessels, motors, etc.

  • Utilize audio, visual, and olfactory senses to monitor the proper operation of plant equipment

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push 100 lbs., and pull 75 lbs.

The Location: This opportunity will support our styrene monomer plant in Pasadena, TX.  Pasadena is part of the Houston metropolitan area, about 30 miles from downtown.
