Maintenance Technical Associate

We are looking for a Maintenance Technical Associate to join our polystyrene manufacturing facility located in Channahon, IL.  This position provides support to the Maintenance and Reliability Department.

We are seeking an organized and self-motivated Maintenance Technical Associate who prides themselves on their attention to detail and time management skills.  This position manages the PSM Mechanical Integrity Systems including keeping all databases up to date so that reports assuring compliance with all regulatory, INEOS and INEOS Styrolution guide notes are readily available in real time. 

The Maintenance Technical Associate will occasionally enter the processing units and must make safety a top priority!  INEOS Styrolution employees adhere to all safety principles and lifesaving rules within our industry. Safety is our number one goal!

We are seeking candidates that have at least 3 years’ experience in an administrative environment.  A high school graduate required but preferred 2-year degree.  Working knowledge of SAP or similar program and proficient use of Microsoft software is also a must!

Our Maintenance Technical Associate is accountable and responsible to adhere to all major process safety principles, lifesaving rules, and preserve high standards in regards to caring for our assets. Additional responsibilities are listed below:

  • Understands and communicates the Life Saving Rules to other employees and contractors.
  • Understands and ensures the 20 Principals of Behavioral and Process Safety are followed.
  • Communicate and champion the 20 Safety Principles to empower and enable others.
  • Preserve high standards of housekeeping and organization
  • Manages PS AIM software database by entering equipment, inputting inspection data and generating reports for inspections due.
  • Set up and maintain document management system for Pressure Relief Devices, Inspection and Reliability Programs.
  • Provide reliability technician support using SAP software to adjust preventative maintenance plans and task lists.
  • Sets up standardized requisitions at beginning of year for maintenance invoices. Reviews and approves invoices and adjusts SAP requisitions if amounts allocated were too low.
  • Review, document and approve weekly timecards for site nested maintenance contractors.
  • Provide maintenance technician support using SAP software for entering work order time completed and printing of daily work orders per schedule.
  • Provide assistance with presentation and report preparations, including data collection.
  • Create from SAP and Excel weekly Maintenance KPI reports to support the Asset Management program, which are published to the site via Outlook.
  • Recognize and act on opportunities to enhance effectiveness of the Mechanical Integrity Systems for Asset Management system improvements.
  • Assist with and participate in all plant Mechanical Integrity, Safety and ISO audit preparations.
  • Maintain Maintenance Department employee knowledge management (training) databases.
  •  Provide a diverse range of administrative assistance to the Maintenance and Reliability service areas of the site, which may also include technical service teams. (Engineering & Stores)
