background

FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth

job purpose

To lead the field execution of major machinery overhauls (compressors and gas turbines)

principle accountabilities

  • Manage a team of multidiscipline technicians to deliver major machinery overhauls.
  • Deliver overhaul programme in line with major machinery plan including participation in constructability reviews / compressor meetings.
  • Manage site activities and set clear expectations on safety and quality.
  • Manage all permits associated with the overhaul works and attend the daily co-ordination meeting and be prepared with requirements for activities for the following days.
  • Organise site kick off meetings, pre-mobilisation check lists,
  • Provide input to the GOC requirements of the overhaul
  • Manage third party vendors and contractors employed to provide specialist input to machinery overhaul.
  • Deliver overhaul programme in accordance with specific procedures and interfaces such as inductions, incident reporting, adherence to site standards, review of method statements and interface with asset work control and planning.
  • Ensure work is controlled safely and effectively managed including performance of daily site audits and safety audits plus lifting compliance.
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with planning and scheduling team.
  • Organise and carry out assurance audits on site and any other provisions of the construction HSE plan or asset specific requirements

  • Ability to manage uncertainty within each work scope.
  • Good decision making skills within area of own expertise.
  • Able to direct, control and motivate 3rd Party contractors and other Ineos teams when applicable.
  • Able to interpret plans and progress measures
  • Able to understand cost and billing information to ensure fair and accurate billing and contract claim management
  • Authorise Site and control management of site instructions
  • Interface effectively with other asset engineering personnel, Ops and TAR teams.
  • Provide accurate as built information and quality control compliance.
  • Able to build strong working relationships.
  • Understands commissioning processes and the relationship with construction and completion control.
  • Permit to work and management of change knowledge.
  • Expectation to work additional hours during site planned and unplanned events.

qualifications and technical experience

  • 5 years plus experience of Mechanical Supervision in the Petrochemical Industry
  • 2-5 years working in 3rd Party Construction company and contractor management
  • Understanding of cost and schedule management
  • Technical knowledge relevant to own discipline including an understanding of legislative requirements.
  • Ability to work and communicate between various levels of the FPS organisation and external companies.
