FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth

job purpose

Act as the Site Competent Person (focal point)/ Subject Matter Expert for all technical issues relating to lifting and moving loads across Ineos FPS. Provide safe systems of work for all activities associated with lifting and moving loads to ensure that all lifting operations can be carried out efficiently and safely

Asset Lifting Maintenance Specialist - Manage the maintenance of the Unity pedestal crane through the contracted 3rd party specialist. Manage Asset lifting equipment. Manage the maintenance of fixed lifting equipment (bridge cranes) for the South Asset.

principle accountabilities

LOLER Focal Point/ Lifting Subject Matter Expert

  • Responsible for providing the assurance through technical audit that the management, control and execution of lifting operations are in compliance with the UK Statutory Regulations, Ineos FPS Lifting Standards and procedures, and where applicable, the INEOS Corporate Lifting standards
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the onshore and offshore Rigging teams to ensure all lifting operations are implemented safely and efficiently and in accordance applicable industry / project specific lifting standards
  • Write LOLER plans including simple, intermediate and complex.
  • Responsible for competence of offshore and onshore Appointed Persons and appointment of LOLER Representatives
  • Participate in investigation of incidents related to rigging, lifting and handling.

Crane / Lifting Maintenance

  • Maintenance of Lifting Equipment supporting both Ineos FPS North and South Operations;
  • Provide supervision on maintenance, repairs and major overhauls performed on lifting equipment
  • Monitor pedestal crane and overhead cranes operation and maintenance data, including lab analysis and condition monitoring trends. Prepare recommendations and ensure implementation in maintenance strategy as necessary to improve performance;
  • Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities for Lifting Equipment are planned and executed across INEOS FPS operations.

Candidates must be willing to travel offshore and in between the Aberdeen and Grangemouth office locations.

qualifications and technical experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (SCQF level 6 Diploma) Moving Engineering Construction Loads and OPITO rigging assessment stage 3/4
  • A Valid Competent Person Qualification issued by a recognised industry body.
  • Banksman/Slinging Stage 3/4 (OPITO)
  • Lifting Equipment Inspection
  • Rigging Loft Management

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience within rigging and lifting activities specific to offshore and onshore construction, maintenance and operations activities
  • Experience of SME role and acting as appointed person responsible for signing off LOLER lift plans including complex lifts.
