Maintenance Planner (Mechanical)

We are looking for a

A. Purpose /Role of the job /: Describe in 1 phrase what contribution the job is expected to make to the organisation’s objectives

  • The planning and work preparator is responsible for  preparing and following up on work in the context of breakdowns, planned maintenance, TAR’s and MOC”s, in order to ensure reliable and safe operations.

B. Environment/Context/Complexity of the job: Describe the most important internal and external factors influencing the job

Internal factors:

  • Within maintenance team: maintenance coordinator, maintenance supervisor, mechanical  and E&I technicians
  • Within production team: with production day supervisor to align on the scope of work and shift supervisor for preparation and approval of the permits for any work in the installation

External factors:

  • 3rd party suppliers who will perform work on the site

C. Responsibilities/ Accountabilities of the job: Describe the main results expected from the job, sum up to 100%

 SHE and work permits 30 %

  • Active support to the safety culture at site and works safely for incident free operation.
  • Ensures compliance with mandatory procedures imposed by local legislation, INEOS Styrolution and manufacturers
  • Work in compliance with all legal regulations.
  • Participate on regular safety training at site:
    • Safety rules and guidelines
    • Incident sharing and learning
    • Permit to work and Risk Assessment, etc.
  • Understand and follow annual SHE improvement plan for the site.
  • Work in line with SHE KPIs and Targets set by management
  • Contribute to Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) program at site
  • Follow site procedures aligned with INEOS Group Guidance Notes (IGGNs)
  • Following and practicing INEOS 20 principles of Behaviour Safety and Process Safety at site through site rules and procedures
  • Following and practicing Life Saving Rules at site
  • Following Permit to Work as per the site procedure
  • Following Management of Change (MOC) as per the site procedure.
  • Collecting permits and explaining them to the technicians/ 3rd party contractors who perform the job
  • Organize the permits for every task by the technicians/ 3rd party contractors
  • Participate at the daily work permit meeting

Workflow organization and preparation 40%

  • Prepares the work administratively (including preparation of cost estimates, hourly and cost accounting)
  • Reviews incoming SAP orders and schedules the work in considerations with priorities, availability of mechanic/technician, available spare parts, production planning etc.
  • Records the information about the work in the SAP system
  • Proposes improvement actions
  • Reserves or orders the necessary materials and equipments
  • Request quotes and place material reservations
  • Generate a workflow and ensure follow up and sign off for any order

3rd party management 20%:

  • Organize the appointment with 3rd party service provider: announcement to site security, pick up at the gate, safety contractor training
  • First contact point for the contractor, direct to expert in case of technical specific questions
  • Explain and hand over work permits for relevant work
  • Ensure mechanical/ E&I  technicians are available to take 3rd party to work place and monitor
  • Ensure protection of intellectual property of equipment information and datasheets.

Team organization 10%:

  • Participate at team meetings and prepare overview of your relevant work area
  • Participate in project meetings and support with schedule and equipment status
  • Participate in TAR - and MOC preparation

D. Required profile:

Experience in general:

  • Knowledge on Maintenance department workflows beneficial
  • Experience in mechanical or E&I technical work tasks and equipment beneficial
  • Scheduling experience beneficial
  • Document management experience beneficial

Technical skills:

  • Very structured and organization skill required
  • Ability to think ahead for schedule optimization
  • Ability to work cross-site functions, team player
  • Minimum MS office skills beneficial
  • SAP skills beneficial
  • Be able to independently work and take up in the area of responsibility

Physical abilities:

  • General work day hours
  • Must be able to occasionally (30-40%) stand, ascend and descend stairs, ascend and descend caged ladders, bend, reach above shoulder height, at/below shoulder height.
  • Must be able to frequently (70-100%) sit and walk.
  • Must be able to infrequently (5-10%) twist.
  • Must be able to work inside90% of the time and work outside 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to infrequently work in extreme cold or heat and around high noise levels over 85 Db.
  • Must be able to wear ½ face respirator or full-face respirator as needed. 
  • Must be able to wear steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, long sleeves, hearing protection, fall protection and other PPEs as warranted.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain Governmental required training as required
  • Must be able to complete and maintain INEOS process training for on-boarding
  • Must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens and to adjust focus.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound. Must perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction.
  • This position is considered a “safety critical job”, which requires continuous study (SOP’s, Training Manuals, procedural updates), for the employee to be always alert, able to concentrate on their task at hand, and not impaired by medications (prescription, non-prescription, illegal or legal substances including alcohol), or any other mental condition which adversely affects alertness, concentration, or judgment.

  • Safety (OSHA Recordable Rate, Safety Performance Indicators)
  • Maintenance (Total Maintenance Cost/Replacement value, Backlog, Reliability, % preventive Maintenance, % corrective Maintenance, …)
  • Technical Warehouse (Inventory level spares, delivery reliability, …)
