Job Title:
Maintenance Coordinator
Role synopsis:
The Maintenance Coordinator manages maintenance activities and operations interfaces that occur in their assigned unit or area. These include day-to-day, emergencies, planned and unplanned unit outages and any other maintenance related activities. They are the key contributor toward ensuring the maintenance identification/planning/scheduling/execution of work processes are adhered to and ensuring alignment of maintenance priorities with the objectives of delivering 100% compliance and high asset availability. This position has fixed budgetary responsibility.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Must be aware of the operating status and equipment issues in respective operating area.
- Manage all maintenance related activities for assigned area to support safety, cost control and reliability
- Ensure all maintenance preparation activities are properly communicated to and executed by Operational teams as aligned with the daily/weekly maintenance schedules
- Manage and prioritize notifications in area – Ensure high productivity of operating personnel by screening notifications and managing backlog and aging notifications
- Manages Operating area work backlog.
- Communicate weekly and daily maintenance schedule to the shift teams
- Provides input and priority of jobs related to the 3 week look-ahead schedule for operating area
- Supports fixed costs control of direct Maintenance spending for assigned area
- Coordinate with shift team to ensure equipment is prepared for maintenance as required and unit operational needs are considered when maintenance is planned
- Participate in weekly scheduling meetings
- Accountable for accurate leak repair management plan is in place and that temporary MOCs are managed for temporary repairs
- Supports operations and maintenance to ensure environmental compliance is maintained (LDAR, DOR, Temporary Repair, etc.) to minimize impact on the environment and support site Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Unit SAP representative
- Provides support and verification for isolation/blinding activities and approve permitting (Hot work/Entry) for routine day-to-day (M-Thu) maintenance activities
- Supplemental emergency unit operations support as needed on day shift and provide 24-hour (on-call) assistance
- Recommend improvements to plant maintenance processes
- Accountable for creation safety action plans per TCC policies
- Must develop and maintain Shift Leader capability to support backfill capability on a scheduled or an emergency basis.
Operations/Reliability
- Recognize opportunities for defect elimination and/or repeat failures and engage the unit engineers
- Prioritize maintenance activities (tactical, strategic, break-in) through defined maintenance work processes
- Performs responsibilities as outlined in the site Maintenance Work Process
- Ensure effective interface with maintenance in order to support an efficient maintenance work process
- Maintains priority for long-term infrastructure of the complex, including fireproofing, steam tracing, asbestos abatement, electrical integrity, insulation, painting, lighting, corrosion protection, and operator facilities repairs
- Provide input to annual maintenance scope
- Assures required maintenance items in Meridium exception reports are entered in SAP and prioritized
- Assures creation and execution of LOTO procedures in conjunction with procedure developers
- Take action to sustain or improve operation performance based on output from unit health monitoring and equipment performance monitoring activities
Troubleshooting
- Supports troubleshooting all equipment-related unit problems.
- Contributes to determine the root cause when the source of an upset or problem is not immediately obvious by providing necessary maintenance support/input
TAR / Project Management
- Represents assigned unit on maintenance/turnaround related issues and at related meetings
- Serves as unit TAR core team member for planning and unit supervisor team member during TAR execution
- Responsible for TAR work list development and management
- Operations representative for all sustaining, gap closure, reliability, safety and environmental projects including during field execution.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Education/Experience:
- Degree required: HS Diploma or GED
- Number of Years’ Experience Preferred for Entry: 8+ years in plant operations
- Number of Years’ Experience Required for Competency: 8+ years
- Certifications Required: ability to obtain unit/area qualifications
- Language(s) Needed: Must have excellent communications skills in English
